Former The Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield undoubtedly has some of the best hair in the biz. Her gorgeous, golden natural curls are everything our curly hair dreams are made of. Seriously, have you seen her?

Just look at those stunning curls!

But, as many of our curly-haired pals will agree, caring for curly hair isn’t always the easiest of tasks. Getting your curls to dry into perfectly-shaped spirals without any frizz can seem almost impossible.

So how does Abbie do it?

Well, we’re all in luck because Abbie has taken to Instagram to reveal the secret to her perfectly shaped curls.

According to Abbie, a hair regimen known as The Curly Girl Method is behind her flawless curls. The Curly Girl Method is essentially an approach to caring for naturally curly hair and it’s based on a book named Curly Girl: The Handbook by hairstylist Lorraine Massey.

“If you haven’t heard of [The Curly Girl Method], Google it. It’s like this bible to live by. When I started doing it my hair was an absolute mess. I would always straighten it, always use silicones and sulphates and all that bad stuff. In the past year since using it, my hair grows so quickly, it’s so healthy. My curls are so easily ringlet-y and gorgeous and shiny. I can’t recommend it enough.”

One of the most important steps of the method is eliminating shampoo or replacing it with a low-foaming, sulphate-free shampoo to avoid stripping curly hair of moisture. Conditioner is also used not just after cleansing, but before cleansing too, and the method includes techniques for drying and styling the hair as well.

If you’re interested in trying the Curly Girl Method yourself, but not sure where to start, Abbie recommends Boss Curl Co, a pre-packaged kit that includes Curly Girl-approved tutorials and products.

“[It includes] everything you need to start a curly girl routine. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try the Curly Girl regimen but doesn’t know where to start. Because when I started, I had no idea. If you start off with a box like this you can figure out what does and doesn’t work for you,” said Abbie.
