Like every beauty addict, when we hear about a product that promises to make over our beauty routine in more ways than one, were quick to stock up. Recently, Allure opened our eyes to yet another way to use our trusty tub of Vaseline and we couldnt be more excited.

Weve lost count of how many ways we currently use Vaseline in our everyday routineOlivia Palermo and Behati Prinsloo both have it in their beauty kits and we particularly love its ability to prevent major fake tan disasters. It turns another way you should be using it, could quite literally multiply your makeup kit ten-fold.

Allures new beauty hack revealed how to use Vaseline to create a bespoke lipstick shade. The method to make it is incredibly easy, too. All you need is a small pot of Vaseline (which will only set you back $2.60) and a powder eyeshadow in a shade you think would look incredible on your lips.

Spread a small amount of the salve onto the back of your hand before rubbing a clean finger into the pan of your powder eyeshadow to collect the pigment. Mix the colour in with the Vaseline and watch the mixture turn into an ultra-hydrating, creamy lip colour.

If your first attempt doesn’t produce the colour payoff you desire, (with a clean finger) add more shadow into the mix to boost its saturation. Once youve got the hue right, use your finger or a lip brush to apply it to your lips.

You can use this hack with any of your eyeshadows, but always try a patch test first to make sure you dont have any allergic reactions.
