It seems the latest makeup trend to be adopted by our favourite celebrities, as seen on the blue carpet at the Teen Choice Awards, is the extended cat eye. A fun take on the traditional winged liner look, celebrity makeup artists such as Patrick Ta, are mixing it up with texture and colour, and the TCAs saw the winged or cat eye shape being created from the bottom lash line, rather than the top.

Sarah Hyland

The electric blue liner on the bottom of the eye, paired with a simple brown eyeshadow created a fun, and modern contrast that made Sarah Hyland’s eyes pop.

Shay Mitchell 

Celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta, who created Shay’s sweeping burgundy cat eye, played down the dramatic eye look with a nude lip. To get the look he used Smashbox Cosmetics Lipstick in Rose Nude and Smashbox Cosmetics Lipliner in Rose Bud.

Maia Mitchell 

The Australian actress paired her dark extended shadow with a blue liner along her bottom waterline, and finished the look with long, defined lashes.
