Kim Kardashian is over contouring

And the new makeup trends she swears by

There is no celebrity more synonymous with contouring than Kim Kardashian. And while the reality TV queen didn’t exactly invent the technique herself, she could probably be held solely responsible for bringing it into the mainstream.

Well, in shocking news, the queen of the contour has announced that she is officially over the trend.

Over the weekend, Kim attended the Vogue Festival in London, and in a panel with makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, she revealed the following:

"I think right now it's more about non-touring, like real skin with less makeup on it. I'm trying to wear less... and my husband loves me without make-up.

“I'm really into strobing now, so just highlighting the skin without using bronzer.”

But before you panic thinking that contouring is dead and you’ve spent your time watching all of those tutorials (ours is pretty good, by the way), Kimmy K isn’t giving it up altogether.

“I don't think I'd stop contouring my nose - I know people think I've had a nose job but it really is just makeup!”

In case you’ve only been all about the cheekbone contouring and you’re a bit lost on that last comment, what Kim is referring to is that contouring your nose can actually make it look slimmer. If you apply your contouring product down either side of the bridge of your nose, and around the curve at the end, you can create the illusion of a a thinner nose. Very clever little trick!

To top it off, the contouring announcement wasn’t the only bombshell Kim dropped.

"Now when I travel I just bring a small makeup case, and I'm content with that.”

So what’s in said decluttered kit?

"An eyelash curler, a mini Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in the perfect nude that she created for me, mascara - Charlotte's Legendary Lashes is my favourite - my Joe Blasco foundation, a little MAC kabuki brush, a gold eye pencil by Kardashian Beauty, a small pot of powder, blush and my Smashbox bronzer."

So now we patiently wait to see the new non-toured, strobed, and pared-back Kim Kardashian.
