In the lead up to Christmas, it seems like a day doesnt go by without a stunning new beauty product hitting the shelves. Over the past few months, we’ve seen Urban Decay announce the launch of their Naked Ultimate Basics Palette and Naked Illuminated Trio Highlighter and of course, theres the massive Kylie Cosmetics Christmas collection, all of which make us want to spoil ourselves when we should really be shopping for others.

The latest brand to jump on the holiday release bandwagon is makeup brand, Smashbox, who have teamed up with Pretty Little Liars actress and beauty muse, Shay Mitchell to launch seven – yes, seven! –new eyeshadow palettes. The collaboration was announced on the brand’s Instagram recently and features Shay rocking multiple striking eye makeup looks using the different colour combos (only three out of the seven have been posted thus far).

Each of the palettes include six highly pigmented and blendable shadows and two larger neutral base shades. The palette has been designed in this configuration to enable the creation of countless looks, so youre set for any occasion. The collection comprises of Metallic, Matte, Golden Hour, Softlight, Bold, Ablaze and Smoky palettes, the last of which is said to be Shay’s personal favourite.

The collection is part of Smashbox’s Cyber Monday launch and as such, is currently only available in the U.S. However, when we get word as to if and when the collection is likely to hit Australia shores, you will be the first to know.

When the palettes do hit Australian shores, however, we will well and truly be educated on how to use them. Smashbox have released the first of what will hopefully be seven how-to videos with tips and tricks for getting the most out of each palette. The first mini tutorial that has been released is for the palette Golden Hour, which has matte and shimmery neutrals and a hero violet smoky shade. The tutorial features the brand’s global pro artist Lori Taylor who goes through the eight-step process used to create the Golden Hour shadow look seen on Shay Mitchell.
