If you wasted no time jumping on the futuristic chrome manicure trend that swept Instagram and red carpet events in recent months (think Gigi Hadid’s pricey chrome Met Gala talons) then get ready for the next big trend to come out of Korea that’s sure to provide some serious nail inspiration for your summer beauty look.

Sunglass nails are the latest mani to take the Internet by storm, thanks to Paintbox Cosmetics creative director, Julie Kandalec. Kandalec shared her prediction on her Instagram that the look will be the next big thing in nails after she spotted this sunglass-effect nail art in a jewellery store in Seoul.

She captioned the pic “TREND ALERT, Sunglass nails spotted in Korea. Who wants them first?!!”, which naturally prompted thousands of her followers to scramble to find out exactly how they can recreate the look for themselves.

While Kandelec isn’t sure exactly how to copy this coveted manicure, she told Refinery29, “to me, this looks more like a single nail covering, which would make it a one-step process.”

Kandelec believes your best bet for getting the look is to take a picture of the sunglass nails into your nail technician to see if they’re able to create something similar with chrome pigment.

Fingers crossed more tips and tricks for recreating this cool look will come to light soon so that come summer we can match our sunglasses to our manicures!
