The Body Shop is officially Australia’s favourite beauty brand

The Body Shop Is Officially Australia’s Favourite Beauty Brand

According to research conducted by Cosmetify

Beauty Crew Digital Content Editor / November 19 2020

To produce The Hottest Beauty Brands Of 2020 report, Cosmetify considered five major factors: the increase in consumer interest as shown on Google, overall brand searches each month, the number of Instagram followers and hashtags, and the brand’s engagement rate on social media.

From these factors, not only wasThe Body Shop determined as Australia’s favourite beauty brand, but the brand also took out the top spot in 30 other countries including the UK, India, Iceland, South Africa, Egypt, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia!

TBH, we can’t say we’re surprised!

The Body Shop has been around for over 40 years – it was first established in England before it arrived in Australia in the late ‘80s, and it’s become a hugely popular brand thanks to its affordable, high-quality beauty offering.

The range features everything from skin care to cosmetics and body products, and it’s all produced in line with The Body Shop’s strong ethos surrounding sustainability, animal testing, ethical trade and support for human rights issues. As of October, the brand is now also a Certified B Corporation.

Amazing, right?! On that note, if you’re looking to top up your beauty stash, here are our picks from The Body Shop…

Our body pick: For nourishing your body, we can’t go past The Body Shop’s iconic body butters. Right now, we’re loving The Body Shop British Rose Instant Glow Body Butter which gives your skin a subtle radiance while deeply hydrating your skin.

Our skin pick: We’re totally in love with The Body Shop Drops Of Youth™ Youth Concentrate to nix signs of ageing (incredibly, it has a 99 per cent natural formula!).

Our makeup pick: For the nude eyeshadow palette of your dreams, try the new The Body Shop Own Your Naturals Eyeshadow Palette.

Aside from The Body Shop, there were also other standout stats from the Cosemtify report that caught our attention.

French brand, Yves Rocher, took out the title of favourite beauty brand in 31 countries including France, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Turkey, Poland and Hungry.

And if you consider yourself quite the French beauty connoisseur but haven’t even heard of Yves Rocher – not to worry, you’re not alone.

This cosmetics and skin care line is sadly not available in Australia, so you’ll have to stock up on your next European getaway or, if things are getting really desperate, shoot your shot with the few products floating around on eBay.

Other notable #1’s for 2020 included:

Serbia - Glossier

Urban Decay - Chile

Lush - South Korea and New Zealand

Foreo - Brazil and Colombia

Jo Malone - Russia

Estee Lauder - China, Cambodia and Greece

And for the countries who proudly favoured their homegrown brands, this included RMK in Japan, Fenty Beauty in the Caribbean and Ole Henriksen in Denmark.
