3 London Fashion Week makeup looks we want to try IRL

These looks are actually worth braving

London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2019 just came to an end and oh boy - we’re already thinking of pinching some of the beauty looks for this weekend.

While skin was kept looking glowy and fresh, it was bright, glittery and graphic splashes of makeup that stole the show, proving that a pop of colour can truly transform a simple makeup look.

Ready to toss out your neutral rule book? We’ve rounded up three of our favourite new (and wearable!) makeup trends spotted on the LFW runway, plus our tips on how you can master them for yourself.

#1 / Glossy ombre lips

Models walked the runway at the Matty Bovan show matching their glossy lips to their lids and gosh it looked good. While we’re familiar with the Instagram-fuelled matte ombre lip trend, this glossy version gives a nod to the newest and dewiest ‘wet look’ makeup craze (ICYMI it’s been named one of the top trends for 2019). Want to copy the look? Makeup artist Miranda Joyce revealed on Instagram that it was all down to MAC’s Lip Pencil in Nightmoth combined with a splash of “neon-coral lip pigment” on the inner sections of the lips (Joyce didn’t specify the exact product, but MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Sonjdra Deluxe should do the trick). She finished the lip look with a solid swipe of MAC Cosmetics Clear Lipglass.

#2 / Bold blush

This bold blush look is *totally* worth braving in our honest opinion. At Jamie Wei Huang, blush was taken to the extreme, with fierce flushes of pink applied to the apples of the cheeks and then blended right down to the jawline. It’s against everything we’ve ever been taught and we LOVE it. While you would expect it to do the opposite, this statement look actually works to accentuate the models’ facial features on a whole other level. Yep, there’s no such thing as too much blush this season.

#3 / Teal eyeshadow

It’s officially time to ditch your classic dark smoky eye and opt for a pop of colour instead. The House of Holland show proved that bright eye makeup will continue to be a major makeup trend this season. Teal eyeshadow was blended right up to the brows and around the lower lash line for a striking yet surprisingly simple look. If you’re searching for a good teal eyeshadow palette to get started, we like L’Oréal Paris La Petite Eyeshadow Palette in Optimist.
