The best false eyelashes for when you need more oomph
These are the ones we love

Fake lashes can work some pretty incredible miracles on those who don't have a full flutter of natural lashes. An effortless (or at least, once you master the technique) way of framing your peepers, they can take your eye makeup to the next level. And the best bit is you can do it yourself, for minimal money, and you don't have to commit to anything semi-permanent (like you do with eyelash extensions), so you can change your lash look with your mood.
When it comes to false lashes, you have a couple of options. Mink lashes tend to be the most popular due to their fluffy texture and the natural look they create (those wanting a cruelty-free option, there are also faux mink eyelashes). Silk and faux silk lashes have a glossy sheen, human hairs are ultra-lightweight, and synthetic lashes are dense and dramatic.
What you need in your kit: False lashes (strips, clusters or individual depending on personal preference and the look you’re after), lash glue, and a lash applicator or tweezers to help with application, if needed.
For those who are loyal to their mascara, we get it - swiping on mascara is easily the fastest way to amplify your lashes, but the truth is, you can’t beat the versatility of false lashes: you can add length, fill in gaps and transform sparse lashes, change the shape of your eyes, try different styles, create next-level fullness and depth, or go all out with feather falsies, glitter lashes and every colour under the sun.
And, despite what you might think, they *can* give you a natural look - dramatic lashes aren't their only M.O. You just need to shop around for the good ones.
To help get you started, we've found nine of the best false eyelashes in Australia. These false lashes are so good you’ll have everyone second-guessing whether they’re real or not.
Top tip: We actually recommend investing in a few of them - a false lash wardrobe lets you chop and change depending on the look you're going for.
#9 / Huda Beauty Faux Mink Lash, $40
The review: “You know when they usually say you can get 25 wears out of your strip lashes? Well.. with most lashes that is definitely not the case. Although with these, I swear they look their best after 10 wears.. they hold up super well plus are the most flattering on my hooded eyes.” Mari-Liis, Sephora Australia customer
#8 / Mecca Cosmetica False Lashes Enhancing, $20
The review: “These are my go-to lash extensions, I purchased them recently for my formal, and it looked absolutely gorgeous. I can top it off with extra mascara for a dramatic look, or just pop them on for a flawless and not over the top look for everyday.” FiaPaul, MECCA customer
#7 / Petite Cosmetics Gentle Lashes, $12
The review: “I've been loving false lashes from Petite Cosmetics because their lash shape sits on my lashes nicely and comfortably. Also, it looks natural and extremely easy to apply.” Helen, SUPERcrew member
#6 / MAC Cosmetics 36 Lash, $22
The review: “These lashes were beautiful to wear. They gave an in-between natural-glam look. They didn’t hit my eyebrows like a lot of lashes have in the past so you forget you’re actually wearing them. Favourite lashes by far.” JRICH, MECCA customer
#5 / EYLURE Exaggerate Lashes No. 140, $12.99
The review: “The best false eyelashes are EYLURE Exaggerate Lashes 140. These look natural and yet add such a luscious volume and fullness. They're reusable so the price is very good, and very lightweight (I hate lashes that weigh down my eyes and make my lids feel droopy - these feel like you're just wearing some mascara!).” Georgia, SUPERcrew member
#4 / Ardell Faux Minx Wispies, $12.99
The review: “As I used to be a dancer, I’m wayyy too familiar with every lash brand and style of falsies under the sun. My favourites at the moment are the Ardell Faux Minx Wispies. These look super pretty on and definitely aren’t your run-of-the-mill lashes. They have a gorgeous fluffy lash look that gives them the appearance of lash extensions rather than lash strips. The ends are tapered and subtly curled which keeps them looking super natural. One of my biggest beauty pet hates is that thick, black, artificial-looking band you get across your lash line with many strip lashes and these come on this amazing clear 'invisiband' which I LOVE!” Isobel Larkin, Beauty Crew’s Junior Beauty Writer
#3 / Tarte Tarteist™ PRO Cruelty-Free Lashes, $18
The review: “These lashes are so easy to apply and they look so good. They’re very high quality and can look natural or exaggerated depending on the style you get. Have repurchased many times and will continue to do so because they’re the best lashes I’ve ever worn.” Sara, Sephora Australia customer
#2 / ModelRock Fiercely Amplified False Lashes, $11.95
The review: “I’ve been wearing falsies on a daily basis for 10 years, so I think I can say that I know a thing or two about them! I’m obsessed with ModelRock as a whole because they look really natural (well, as natural as stick-on false lashes can look!) and feature a lash band that’s ultra fine and bendy, so they adhere properly to your actual eyelid. Right now, I’m loving the Fiercely Amplified set, which have longer hairs on the outer corners of your eyes – something I always look for in a pair of falsies to make my eyes look more doll-like.” Iantha Yu, Beauty Crew’s Beauty Editor
#1 / Ardell Natural Demi Wispies, $10.99
The reviews: “I love the Ardell Demi Wispies. They're the perfect mix of everyday glam to a night out "fluttery" eyelash look. I pair it with the Ardell eyelash glue and they stay on all night.” Alex, SUPERcrew member
“The best false eyelashes that I’ve found is Ardell Natural 120 Demi lashes. I love them because they don’t look too obvious and fake as they are made of real sterilised hair and not plastic. They look fluffy and light and believable. I like that they are slightly longer on the outer lashes and I also find them easy to apply.” Aneta, SUPERcrew member
