With the temperatures on the rise, it’s time to switch to makeup formulas that can withstand the heat, skin care that can nourish without feeling heavy, and irresistible fragrances to celebrate the spring season. These new beauty launches do just that.
Louis Vuitton Attrape-Rêves
We’re yet to meet a Louis Vuitton fragrance we didn’t like, and the latest launch - Attrape-Rêves - is no exception. The scent is built from a base of creamy cacao and grounding patchouli, where touches of Turkish rose and peony are added for a burst of prettiness. To top it all off, ginger and lychee are refreshing additions that steer the fragrance away from being too predictable.
Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush in Setsuko
Our favourite way to apply blush this season is with a whipped formula that melts into skin upon contact. This month, we’re loving Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush because it’s super blendable, so there’s no chance of it catching on top of your foundation. “It’s one of my favourite [products] because it’s a mix between a powder and cream blush, and it doesn’t rub off easily,” says celebrity makeup artist Hye-Min Park (also known as @ponysmakeup) and ambassador of Shiseido. And we couldn’t agree more. Go with the shade Setsuko if you have a fair or medium skin tone.
Lab Series Instant Filter Moisturizer
For women, light-diffusing translucent powders and blurring primers can perfect your complexion and make you look selfie-ready. As for men? The Lab Series Instant Filter Moisturizer can mask imperfections, colour-correct any redness and keep skin hydrated all day. We’re in awe with its moisturising formula yet primer-like effect on skin. Apply in an upwards motion for best results.
CHANEL Rouge Allure Velvet Extrême in Idéal
We get it… matte lipsticks are tricky to wear as they can generally feel drying or heavy on smackers. However, CHANEL Rouge Allure Velvet Extrême takes the cake for most wearable newcomer this month. Beauty Crew’s Editor, Carli is totally on board. “I love a matte lipstick, but finding one that delivers a soft velvet finish without leaving lips feeling dry or uncomfortable isn’t always an easy task. This one from CHANEL glides onto lips like a dream, and sets to an almost powder-like finish that feels so comfortable I often forget I’m even wearing it. As far as the pigment and longevity goes, it’s far exceeded expectations and still looks as punchy and vibrant after a few cups of tea. The shade Idéal is also a beautiful true red that is perfect for all skin tones.” Are you sold yet?
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Natural Bronze Body Lotion
There are different levels of commitment when it comes to fake tanning at home - there’s the mousse and mitt option, which tends to be higher maintenance and harder to get right; or there’s the gradual tanning route that’s easier to apply and requires less precision. If you’re a fan of the latter, then try Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Natural Bronze Body Lotion - it’s a gradual tanning formula that offers a natural sun-kissed glow. And it’s exactly as the name suggests: it’s loaded with coconut oil (along with coconut water and milk!) to soften, and contains a vegetable-based tanning ingredient to darken limbs over a couple of days’ use.
Sukin Coffee & Coconut Exfoliating Facial Masque
There’s so much to love about Sukin Coffee & Coconut Exfoliating Facial Masque. Beyond it’s time- and money-saving properties (you use the one product to exfoliate and nourish!), it’s packed with antioxidant-rich ground coffee beans to gently slough away dead skin cells, coconut shell to further exfoliate, and aloe vera to soothe and hydrate. To use, pop a thin layer onto your face for 15 minutes, rub the formula in circular motions to exfoliate, then rinse it all off.
Sisley Stylo Lumiere
Brighten your complexion on the go with an illuminating pen like Sisley Stylo Lumiere, which works to refresh the appearance of your complexion or eye area. What we also love about the formula is that it can blur and smooth any skin tone and that there are shades to compliment pink and olive undertones. Now that’s clever.
Lush Ectoplasm Shower Scream
Following from the success of Lush’s Ectoplasm Jelly Bomb in 2017 comes Ectoplasm Shower Scream, a yummy grapefruit and tangerine body soap in liquid form, launched in time to celebrate the spooky season. Can’t get enough of the scent? Then get the same fragrance in solid perfume or liquid perfume form.
Swisse Blood Orange Brightening Daily Moisturiser
Known for its high level of antioxidants that protect skin and have brightening properties, it’s no wonder that Swisse has heroed Sicilian blood orange in their Blood Orange Brightening Daily Moisturiser. The formula is also boosted with avocado oil to nourish and hydrate, along with liquorice to brighten and gently fade the appearance of hyperpigmentation.
Pureology Strength Cure Best Blonde Miracle Filler Treatment
Blondies - listen up, there’s a new product in market that can strengthen, mend and boost shine in brittle locks with a single spray. In addition, the formula is creamy yet super lightweight, so there’s no chance of it weighing down fine or thinning hair types.
