A new month always serves as a brand new beginning, with a new monthly budget and plenty of new beauty launches just begging to be bought.
But with brands releasing fresh drops a mile a minute, it’s no easy task figuring out what’s worth the splurge (especially in times like these, when you want to make damn sure any purchase is truly deserving of your dollars).
Luckily, we’ve rounded up the most innovative, ingenious and hell, just insanely pretty products hitting shelves this January – and we promise adding any one of them to your cart will be a decision you’ll never regret…
Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation (available now)
After skipping foundation for a while (hey holidays, miss you already), it can be tough to go back to applying base every day without feeling like your skin is suffering. Not with this one, though – its dewy-finish hyaluronic acid and vit-C pairing leaves skin as soothed as it does flawless.

Morphe M2 Restart Detox Face Mask (available now)
A holographic lilac face mask is hard to resist under any circumstances, we know… but when it also happens to be a clay and charcoal combo that detoxes and decongests skin before allowing you to peel it off super satisfyingly, we’re really left with no other option but to buy in bulk.
Bite Beauty Upswing Full Volume Mascara (available now)
If ‘switch to clean mascara’ was one of your 2021 resolutions, this formula is here to help you smash your goal without any sacrifices in the results realm. Powered by vegan tree berry wax, its intense black colour and hourglass-shaped brush will get your lashes supersized sans smudges, delivering flake-free definition as well as lift and curl.
Ilia Liquid Powder Chromatic Eye Tint (available now)
Can’t be bothered with blending brushes this year? We feel that. Switch up your shadow strategy with this chrome-finish eye glaze. It comes in creaseless colours from hazelnut to olive, glides on like a cream and dries down to a powder, and is bound to make your daily eye makeup application a total breeze.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Dew Drops (available now)
Every Glow Recipe launch feels like a beauty lover’s Christmas, so we especially appreciate them dropping these dew drops just in time to rescue us from the post-holiday blues. The name sums the formula up perfectly; it’s a multi-use highlighting face serum that adds glow without any traces of glitter, pearls or mica. Just pure dewy goodness.
Maison Margiela Bubble Bath Candle (available now)
TBH we always thought burning a candle while lounging in a bubble bath was the pinnacle of relaxation, but it turns out it’s actually burning a candle inspired by a bubble bath, while in an actual bubble bath. Or hey, if you don’t have a tub for the real thing, allow the scent to serve as the sensory equivalent – with coconut, lavender flower and squeaky clean soap bubble accords, we promise it’ll work a convincing treat.
Drunk Elephant Sweet Biome Fermented Sake Spray (available now)
Ever heard of your acid mantle? Well, it’s a fancy name for your skin’s barrier, and it’s pretty important that it stays strong, soothed and balanced in order for your face to not freak out. Luckily, this kombucha, coconut water and sake extract spray is designed to keep it in tip-top (AKA plump, sturdy and calm) condition at all times. And it feels delightful going on; blessings.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Rose Cleansing (available now)
This cult-status cleansing balm is back and better than ever for 2021, popping on a pair of rose-coloured glasses (in the form of a rosehip oil and rose extract duo) in its latest offshoot. It’s a nifty formula, too, starting off as a balm, melting into a lush cleansing oil, and then emulsifying into a hydrating milk once it meets water to meet all your lofty cleansing needs.
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation (available now)
Fenty sure started the year strong with their first drop – it’s their game-changing Pro Filt’r foundation in powder form (cue cheers). In a nutshell, it’s as lightweight and longwearing as the OG liquid, with the same blurring skills and non-cakey soft matte finish; it’s just way easier to transport around for touch-ups.
The Ordinary Concealer (launching January 19th)
To put it simply, if The Ordinary are making it, we’re buying it, and their latest launch is certainly no exception. A concealer range with an incredible 36 shades, the formula taps into what the brand calls a ‘high-spreadability suspension system’ to allow for velvety, full coverage that blends like a dream and keeps the 'real skin but flawless' finish we're all chasing very well intact.
