The bargain skin care tool Victoria’s Secret Angels swear by

We bet you haven’t heard of this one before

While we know of Taylor Hill’s exorbitantly expensive facial treatment and Elsa Hosk’s go-to cleanser, we are always keen to uncover more secrets to how we can get a Victoria’s Secret-worthy complexion for ourselves. When celebrity aesthetician Elizabeth Kennedy shared with E! News the cheap beauty tool used backstage at New York Fashion Week to combat the effects of long hours and exhaustion, with (ex) Victoria’s Secret angels Behati Prinsloo and Miranda Kerr raving about it as well, we figured we were one step closer to replicating their flawless skin.

The tool in question is a jade roller, which we asked local expert Jeannie Bourke, who is the director of Venustus beauty & body lab, which specialises in Crystal Cryotherapy to explain what it is and how it works. “[It’s a] crystal that is cut, polished and attached to a handle.” She adds that it is usually dual ended: the small end is used for the eye area and above the lip, while the larger end is used for the rest of the face.

While you may or may not have heard of this bizarre facial tool, the benefits are definitely worth paying attention to. By massaging the roller across certain sections of your face (Bourke suggests using light pressure if you’re a beginner) you are stimulating blood supply to the area, “which increases the oxygen level and improves the tone of the skin,” says Bourke. Additionally, it can help eliminate toxins as well as assist in the relaxation of facial muscle tension, which can build up due to stress or exhaustion.

Bourke explains that to get the most out of the tool, store it in the fridge as the colder it is, the more effective it is as an anti-inflammatory. She also shares that using it over the top of facial and eye serums can mean a better absorption of the ingredients.

The best news? You can get your hands on one of these Victoria’s Secret model-approved tools in Australia for less than $20. You can find one at I Am Natural Store
