Kate Hudson shares her fitness secrets

Get ready to get limber

Beauty Crew Beauty Writer / May 25 2017

It’s a well-known fact that Kate Hudson loves to exercise. In addition to being the co-founder of activewear brand Fabletics, the mum-of-two loves to share pictures of her workout routines with her five million Instagram followers on a regular basis.

Recently, Kate opened up in two separate interviews with Shape and InStyle about the tips and tricks she relies on to keep her happy, healthy and fit. Here’s what we learnt:

#1 / Her go-to workout

The actress spoke to InStyle about the importance of tailoring a workout routine to what works best for you. For her, it’s Pilates as, “there’s something about it that I feel like I can reconnect – something that just motivates me.” Kate went on to explain in her Shape interview that Pilates is “the workout my body really responds to. It’s all about alignment, elongating your spine, and strengthening your core. It makes me feel my strongest.”

#2 / Why she loves the outdoors

Kate told Shape that the best part of exercising outdoors is the freedom you get from being outside and how it enables you to really experience the city you’re in. She said, “in New York City, if I’m staying downtown and have a meeting uptown, I’ll put on my earphones, listen to great music, and just walk. There is nothing better than walking in Manhattan.”

#3 / Her favourite workout apps

As she travels so regularly, Kate says she often finds it difficult to make it to the gym so there are a few workout apps that she relies on when she’s abroad. Her favourites include, “QE2, a full-body routine created by my Pilates teacher, Nicole Stuart. It keeps me in tip-top shape. Then there’s Hot5, which I love because each workout is only five minutes long.” She’s also a fan of the app Sworkit as “you can do it anywhere, even in the smallest space, and break a good swear in just 15 to 20 minutes.”
