Here’s what our Review Crew® had to say about the cleanser and mask hybrid

The product

Finding the perfect cleanser can be a challenge. You want a formula that will effectively rid your skin of everything from makeup and dirt to excess oil and impurities, but you want it to do so without stripping your skin of its natural oils to avoid that tight and dry after-feel. Luckily, Neutrogena® have developed the Deep Clean Purifying Clay Cleanser & Mask – a cleanser and mask hybrid formulated with polymeric surfactants, which work to remove dirt, oil and makeup without penetrating the skin’s barrier. As a result, skin is left clean and revitalised with those all-important natural oils left intact.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent Neutrogena® Deep Clean Purifying Clay Cleanser & Mask to a panel of women aged between 19 and 29 years old with all skin types who wanted to cleanse their skin and remove all traces of makeup, without stripping the natural oils from their complexion.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about Neutrogena® Deep Clean Purifying Clay Cleanser & Mask:
The product’s two-in-one function: The vast majority of reviewers loved that the product could be used daily to cleanse skin as well as once or twice a week as a mask to draw out any lingering impurities and unclog pores. They also loved how budget- and travel-friendly this cleanser and mask multitasker was.

How the formula didn’t strip the skin: Many testers commented that while the product effectively removed all traces of makeup, dirt, excess oils and impurities when used as a cleanser, it didn’t strip the skin of moisture or leave it feeling dry.

How the salicylic acid reduced breakouts: Members with acne-prone skin appreciated that the cleanser and mask hybrid had been formulated with salicylic acid. As a result, many commented that they’d seen a reduction in the severity and number of breakouts during the trial period.

The verdict

“This 2-in-1 product is such a steal. It works so well as a deep cleanser and leaves your skin feeling super clean. I also really enjoyed leaving it on for the extra time as a mask treatment. You can really feel it working and drawing out all the nasties deep within your skin. I highly recommend this product and will be adding this to my skin care routine.”

“This was a great product - both as a cleanser and a mask. Usually I find clay masks overly drying, but this formula is great at getting rid of excess oil while maintaining moisture in the skin. It also washes off very easily without any noticeable residue - another win over other clay cleansers.”

“My favourite thing about this product is that it’s a 2-in-1. I love a good face mask so knew this product would be a winner in my eyes. It helped to cleanse my skin and remove all the dirt from my pores and I noticed I had fewer breakouts during the time I used it. When using it as cleanser, I felt like it really helped remove any makeup and left my skin feeling refreshed and clean.”
