3 steps to get a closer shave

How To Get A Closer Shave For A Hair-Free Summer - Shay Mitchell

Because summer and body hair don’t mix

Legs are on show daily, and it’s not a summer weekend without a trip to the beach. So keeping your unwanted body hair gone is a seasonal must. The goal: less time shaving, more time showing skin.

On average, we’re shaving around three times a week to keep legs and underarms smooth. Here are three tips to get your closest shave ever.

1

Change your blade

A dull razor can result in missed hairs and nicks. “Change [your razor] at the first sign of dullness to avoid compromising the quality of your shave,” says Adam Boulding, Gillette Venus R&D expert.
If you shave daily, change your razor every couple of weeks. If you shave only twice a week, stretch that to six weeks.

2

Don’t use his...

The new breed of women’s razors are designed with female curves in mind. “You really are opening yourself up to greater irritation and nips if you use a razor that’s not designed for you,” says Boulding. Try Gillette Venus ComfortGlide Razor in Sugarberry.

Add water

Even if you’re short on time, always use water. “Water and shaving foam are critical for a comfortable shave,” says Boulding. “It helps the razor glide over your skin.” We like Ren Tamanu High Glide Shaving Oil, or look for a shaver with a built-in moisturiser so you can skip the shaving foam.
