The product

When it comes to building a strong foundation for a good skin care routine, a hydrating moisturiser and sun protection are top of the list. So, when a product combines these two must-haves to streamline the whole process, we have to admit our ears tend to perk up.

CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 15 is a lightweight day cream with SPF 15 that helps to hydrate even the driest of skins.

The formula is powered by three essential ceramides that work to strengthen the skin’s protective barrier, along with humectant hyaluronic acid and conditioning niacinamide, which replenish hydration levels and improve the overall appearance of skin. This little guy is also allergy-tested, non-comedogenic, AND it’s free of nasties like fragrance and parabens.

As well as CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 15, reviewers received CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion PM, and CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser to try.

The panel

Beauty Crew invited a panel of women aged 25 to 34 with normal to dry skin to participate in a hands-on Review Crew® Discovery Suite with CeraVe. CeraVe's Scientific Communications Manager Rachel McAdam and BEAUTYcrew's Beauty Editor Iantha Yu led an informative Q&A panel on the brand's hero products: CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion PM and CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, and their new launch CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 15.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 15.

The addition of SPF: Our reviewers liked the fact that the day cream contained SPF as it helped streamline their routine by minimising the amount of products they had to apply in the morning, and provided them with all-important protection from harmful UV rays.

The hydrating formula: Packed full of ceramides, the hydrating formula really helped our reviewers to maintain hydrated skin throughout the day.

The lightweight, makeup-friendly finish: Our members were impressed with the lightweight finish of the moisturiser, with many of our members noting that it lay beautifully under makeup and helped keep their foundation looking fresh all day.

“For the past few years, my skin has become more and more sensitive to moisturiser, especially moisturiser with sunscreen. This product is absolutely amazing, not once have my eyes or skin been irritated by using this product. It has kept my skin soft and I have not seen one 'dry patch' since using this product. I could not recommend this product more to anyone with dry and sensitive skin.”

“The moisturising lotion is lightweight, hydrating and has SPF! It doesn't feel greasy or chalky after application and is easy to apply. It is a perfect base for makeup and absorbs quickly, my make up lasts all day with this as my base. I usually apply an extra layer of sunscreen with a higher SPF on top of this lotion but it still feels light. It is hydrating, feels comfortable on my skin and makes my face feel moisturised all day.”

“I love this day cream. I have sensitive skin so moisturisers that contain SPF usually leave my skin tingly and a bit stingy - especially if I work out and start to sweat. This product didn't have that effect, so for me it's a winner. The SPF definitely protects and the cream soaks in nicely without leaving a greasy feeling. I was able to put my make-up on straight away - there was no need to wait for it to soak in first. I felt protected and hydrated all day after spending time in the sun and in air conditioning.”
