Chris Appleton's ‘fox eye snatch’ hack is genius

And the final look is super cute

Unless you’ve been holed up under a rock all year (which to be fair, 2020 hasn’t been far from), you’ll no doubt have heard of the fox eye trend; an eye makeup trend that speaks to the extreme feline peepers popularised by celebrities like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner.

Not satisfied with simply painting their faces though, beauty lovers of fame and non-fame alike have been upping the ante and coming up with new ways to exaggerate the trend even further.

Enter: celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton who has somehow managed to create an adorable Barbarella-esque half-up half-down style that incorporates a sneaky little piece of Hollywood trickery.

The trick itself is titled the ‘fox eye snatch’ and involves using sections of the hair to ‘snatch’ (AKA lifting and pulling the skin upwards) in order to fake that highly sought after fox eye look.

This is not an entirely new concept, in fact Chloe Morello shared a 60-second facelift hack with a similar principle, though she chose to carefully hide her handiwork, strategically styling her hair into a sleek side part.

The real magic with Chris’ technique is the stunning half-up half-down Ariana Grande fever dream style that eventuates from this sneaky piece of hair hackery:

We think we can all collectively agree that Chris Appleton may just be the Macgyver of the professional hair industry.

Chris loves a hack. His secret for faking big eyes is genius.
