Chrissy Teigen reminded us all how valuable press-on nails are right now

The COVID-19 manicure solution you didn’t know you were looking for

Beauty CRew Editor / August 28 2020

Chrissy Teigen – like most of us who love a professional nail job – has been struggling with her manicure situation during lockdown.

And unlike some celebs who have the skills to do a DIY job (fun fact: Serena Williams is actually a trained nail technician, so she’s been doing her own acrylic manicures while self-isolating), Chrissy has freely admitted she’s not great at doing nails herself.

So, she’s gotten creative, and may have found the most GENIUS solution for those who are missing their manicures but simply can’t be bothered for the whole DIY process: Press-on nails.

Yes, press-on nails. When was the last time you thought of those since when you were in school?

Well, thanks to Chrissy’s clever idea, we may just see a renaissance in the category. I mean, just take a look at her handiwork:

And despite her tone in the video she posted to Instagram, she’s clearly very happy with how her nails look.

“It looks just like my nails before all of this,” she says while showing off the results.

“It’s my old favourite colour, and they’re two-week press-ons with this glue. I haven’t felt like this in such a long time. I feel so good.”

If you’re keen to get in on the action, our friend Chrissy used pre-glued press-ons from Patricia Yankee; closer to home, you could look into all the styles available from Dashing Diva, and Kiss has some budget-friendly options, too. Glam by Manicare is a good option if you prefer a subtle French manicure.
