Tips from Sophie Turner’s makeup artist

We’ve all been guilty of falling into ruts when it comes to our makeup routine. When you’re rushing to get out the door for work every morning, it’s understandable that you’d gravitate towards functional products over more fun offerings.

But, Georgie Eisdell, makeup artist to celebrities like Sophie Turner, Carey Mulligan and Gwyneth Paltrow, is here to liven up your makeup routine with some quick and easy tips on how to wear more colour in your everyday makeup routine.

In a recent interview with Glamour, Eisdell expressed her love for colourful makeup looks: “I love colour – it’s fun and it can really put a pep in your step in the summer and brighten up your mood in the winter,” she said.

The secret, she notes, is wearability. “I have been really into using colour of late and trying different shapes, but for me it has to be wearable.”

Eisdell’s top product pick for those wanting to embrace colour? “Tints!!! I love eye, cheek and lip tints at the moment.” Tints are a great way to add a subtle wash of colour to any makeup look and are a way for you to dip your toes in and test the waters when it comes to playing with colour.

Three tints we love: Hourglass No.28 Lip Treatment Oil Tinted; Lilah B Divine Duo Lip & Cheek; RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek

Keen to experiment with colour? Eisdell has these three suggestions for easing yourself into colourful makeup:

#1 / A colourful eyeshadow

“Try a muted shadow that is a colour you like, then slowly go brighter when you are comfortable.”

#2 / A graphic eyeliner

“Try a coloured eyeliner but use black mascara so you get a hint of colour but it's not too crazy a change.”

#3 / A bold lip

“A bright tint on the lips is a nice place to start too, then go for a full lip colour when you're ready.”
