Chrissy Teigen reminds us that bad tans happen to good people

This throwback is the kind of reassurance we all need

In the highly curated social media age we currently live in, it’s hard to believe that celebs ever make a wrong move. They appear to be perfectly polished at all times.

But thank god for Chrissy Teigen, who for years has been bringing unfiltered, real, and raw insights into who she is. Unashamedly so. Remember when she posted about the stretchmarks on her thighs? The bruises on her legs? She’s not only quick to show her flaws, but highlight and make fun of them, too. And it’s why we love her so much.

In today’s episode of Chrissy Teigen Is Happy To Make Fun Of Herself, she posted a spectacular throwback image on Instagram from the 2008 Grammy Awards, reminding us that a bad fake tan happens to good people. Behold:

Captioning the image “Grammys 2008. 10 years ago. This tan!!! Lmao”, she was also quick to diss husband John Legend to take the heat off herself for a sec by commenting on the picture, “@Johnlegend u look like count chocula”.

See? Celebs, they’re just like us.

But thankfully fake tan formulas have come a loooong way since 2008, and if the fear of an unnatural orange result (see above) is what’s been stopping you from getting bronzed the safe way, you can be rest assured your chances are so minimal.

You can now get fake tans suited to your specific skin undertone, thanks to the Le Tan Uber Dark range, so as to ensure your fake tan looks supremely natural. And if you have fair skin and are worried about going too dark too fast, you can look into fake tanners like St. Tropez Express Mousse, which gives you the option to wash off after one, two or three hours depending on how dark you want your tan. Or, there’s always the gradual route where you can build up the colour slowly with something like JERGENS® Natural Glow® + FIRMING Daily Moisturiser

Hey, and if all else fails, there’s always fake tan remover, so it’s worth stocking up on one these:

Bondi Sands Self Tan Eraser

ModelCo Tan Remover Exfoliating Soap

ANTHEIA Tan Remover

Try: Bondi Sands Self Tan Eraser; ModelCo Tan Remover Exfoliating Soap; Antheia Express Tan Remover
