When it comes to beauty being ‘fun’, whether that’s in the application or the finished result, makeup always comes straight to mind. We mean, who doesn’t get a kick out of patting a glittery highlighter on their cheekbones or swiping a coloured liner along their lower lash lines for a flash of colour? The good news is that the skin care department has stepped it up a notch lately, with - surprise, surprise - the facial cleanser category becoming one of the most enjoyable steps to apply. Here are the new cleansers that are the most fun to use for each skin type.
If you have dull skin
Using Sisley Radiance Foaming Cream is like putting a cloud on your face. Seriously. Press down on the pump once (or twice, if you’re trying to remove a long-wearing foundation), and using circular motions, rub the foaming cleanser into your face to effectively remove dirt and debris. Peony extract is the hero ingredient in this product, which offers a brightening effect on skin immediately after use.
If you have normal skin
Minenssey Hydrating Cleansing Soufflé offers a user experience that’s just as fun as it sounds. The consistency is a little thicker than a milk but not as foamy as a gel, and is super luxurious when massaged into the face. Bonus points go to its probiotic formula which can balance the skin’s barrier and desert red quandong - a natural form of AHA - which lightly buffs away dead skin cells (making it a gently-exfoliating cleanser!).
If you have sensitive skin
When it comes to a cream cleanser that is gentle on skin, you can't go past L’Occitane Cleansing Milk. Ingredients like fig and honey will ensure that your skin is soothed and not stripped of moisture, whilst the hardworking oil-free formula will leave your skin clean *and* silky smooth to touch.
If you have dry skin
Eve Lom certainly knows a thing or two about the facial cleanser category - just look at her other best-sellers like the Eve Lom Cleanser (a cleansing balm) and Gel Balm Cleanser, which are both divine to use. Our latest obsession is the Eve Lom Cleansing Oil Capsules, which are biodegradable capsules that contain a nourishing cleanser formulated with ingredients like camelina, grapeseed and abyssinian oil. Pop these open and massage the formula into your skin to nourish and restore moisture.
If you have combination skin
Thanks to watermelon seed oil which ups hydration levels, Alya Foaming Micellar Cleanser is a daily face wash that can quickly and effectively melt away makeup and dirt without leaving your face feeling tight. You’ll also find witch hazel in its ingredients list, which helps shrink pores and prevent blemishes from appearing. Score.
