The bizarre way to make hair look thicker

The must-try trick for fine-haired girls

Trying to create the illusion of full, luscious locks is a constant struggle for fine-haired girls. And while there are plenty hair thickening products and different styling techniques that can help the cause, Bobbi Brown Pro International Artist Amy Conway has a pretty unique trick that can help make your roots appear thicker and help counteract any sparse areas on your scalp.

Full disclosure: this trick works better on brunettes and dark blondes, as the contrast between hair and scalp is much more noticeable.

“Using a brow brush and powder, take your brow colour through the hairline to help make your hair look thicker. Literally buff it through the scalp area, and that instantly picks it up.”

This is also a great trick for those who have a really light scalp, as it can help neutralise the white tone and bring it down to match the rest of your face, and can even be a quick fix to help cover greys (though our members rave about this product for a quick grey root touch-up!)

Not only is this a trick the experts recommend, it has been revealed that the ultimate cool-girl Chrissy Teigen swears by it as well. "I have very light baby hairs," Chrissy told Refinery29"It's crucial. I do it everyday [because] it makes me look more put together," she said.
