How Dannii Minogue keeps her hair healthy through all her colour changes

Dannii minogue secret to healthy hair

Advertorial: From blonde to pink to metallic – and no damage in sight!

Beauty Crew Editor / March 16 2018

Dannii Minogue has become somewhat of a hair colour chameleon over the last year – first she went platinum blonde (for the first time in 20 years!), then she dabbled with a fun and frivolous pink hue , and now she’s sporting a new soft, smoky and shimmering hair look. And as gorgeous as this hint-of-blue metallic tone looks on Dannii, we can’t help but wonder how in the world her hair is holding up so beautifully after so many hair transformations over the space of one year.

Luckily we got to sit down with Ms. Minogue just after her latest hair transformation and insisted she share the secret behind her still-healthy hair!

“[My hairdresser] used INOA, an ammonia-free hair colour, and then I’ve had [the] Smartbond [service] put in every time it’s been coloured. So using those two actions together really helps,” she says.

So if you’re a frequent hair colour changer, or are worried about taking the plunge and dyeing your hair the latest ‘It’ colour (may we recommend dipping your toes into the metallic pool, à la Dannii?) because of the potential damage the colouring process may cause, take note: L’Oréal Professionnel INOA is a no-damage*, ammonia-free professional hair colour service that delivers colour pigment to your hair fibres without compromising the health of your strands or scalp. So much so that you could even lighten your hair up to three shades and still be swishing healthy hair around.

And as for what she does post-stepping out of the salon with any new hair colour, Dannii reveals she is pretty diligent with her at-home care.

“I’ve got the [L’Oréal Professionnel] Smartbond Conditioner at home. That tops [the Smartbond in-salon service] up between colour appointments, and keeps my hair healthy. If I’ve got a day where I can just leave it in, I do. Or even [for] just an hour or two,” shares Dannii.

When it comes to keeping her colour fresh, she says “I’ve been using a purple shampoo and toning conditioner to take any warmth out of my hair and make it cooler. I’ll shampoo my hair, towel dry it and then put on this CC Crème [L’Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert Vitamino-Colour A-OX CC Crème for Blondes]… I sit at my desk with a shower cap on my head and just let it do its thing, and I know I’m going to get a really nice icy colour. My hair [naturally] wants to be really warm.”

Do you feel comforted that your next hair colour change doesn’t have to mean damaged hair? Good. Now it’s time to find your L’Oréal Professionnel salon for your personalised consultation and INOA No-Damage colour*. Simply click here to find your closest salon
