Giorgio Armani just showed us a new way to wear eyeshadow

This could be the new way to wear eyeshadow

Get ready for a badass upgrade

Giorgio Armani just served up a new way to think about eyeshadow at the Armani Privé fashion shows – and it looks quirky, grandiose and nothing short of epic.

At the fall 2018/19 Haute Couture fashion show, Giorgio Armani models took to the runway wearing almost no visible makeup other than a technicolour pop of neon pink eye makeup.

However, unlike your usual eyeshadow look most of the eyelid was left completely free of colour apart from a colourful blend on the outer part of the eye. Interesting!

Sure, the new eyeshadow look might be a bit much to wear to your 9-to-5, but it has definitely hit us some fresh beauty inspo for our next night out.

Giorgio Armani’s international make-up artist Linda Cantello said the look incorporates inspiration from a combination of eras, “A mashup of couture reference reworked in a modern wearable way. A little bit ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘80s. Pink and black combined to create a thoroughly modern makeup.”

And you will be forgiven for thinking the models donned your standard pink eye shadow. Apparently Giorgio Armani’s Lip Magnet liquid lipstick (yes, a lipstick!) in shade #500 Maharajah was the exact product behind the stunning look.

The lip shade was applied in the eye socket to define a clean line and then blended softly towards the outer edge of the eye. Cantello then applied some more lipstick under the eye, leaving a gap between the lash and colour. She then added a touch of black eye pencil from the inner water line to the centre and smudged it out slightly.

If you’re not up for re-creating this look with lipstick, we recommend reaching for MAC Eyeshadow in Cherry Topped or NYX Primal Colours Pressed Pigments Face Powder in Hot Pink for a similar effect.
