Having a professional hairstylist whip your tresses into shape is a true pleasure. But having to carve out the time – and the cash – means that, for most of us, salon visits are a rare luxury. The good news is, with just a little bit of effort on your part, you can create salon-styled hair in the privacy of your own home – even saving money while you’re at it!

Take care of your tresses

Kill the frizz
Professional hair means no frizz. Stylists achieve this with straightening irons, which they glide through hair from the root to the very tip. “For a professional finish, straighten only small sections at a time and get as close to the scalp as you can,” says Nader. Avoid damaging strands

Add plenty of volume
True glamour means big, bouncy hair. To create this effect at home, blow-dry as you would normally, then flip your hair upside down. Create curls that last
The secret to long-lasting curls? Nader says to take a round-barrel heated tong and wrap a 5-7 cm section of hair around it. Remove the tong, roll the curl flat and slide in a large pin and secure it to your head so that it holds its shape. Do this with about eight sections of hair, focusing on the sections that frame your face. Allow them to cool down , then remove the pins and reveal your loose, sexy curls.
