Luminous skin and sexy makeup? Yes please

Beauty Crew Beauty Editor / May 18 2016

Sure, the “no-makeup” makeup look has been a big trend over the last couple of seasons, but now there’s a greater emphasis placed on achieving the look using even less products. What caught our eye at this show was the clever use of an everyday lip balm - and no, we’re not just talking about slicking it over your smackers. Read on to find out exactly how this look was created...

1

Prep the skin

Using a Clarisonic Mia 2 and a foaming face wash, move the tool in light, circular motions to gently exfoliate the skin’s surface.

2

Perfect your base

Tap a small amount of Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation onto blemish areas to nix redness.

When you look at the girls on the runway, it looks like they’re not wearing any makeup at all.

3

Add some colour

With a fluffy brush, sweep a pink-toned shadow across your eyelids for just a wash of colour. With any leftover product on your eyeshadow brush, sweep it along your cheeks to mimic a rosy flush.

4

Accentuate your eyes

Hold your mascara wand vertically, and close the eye you’re about to apply product to. Wave the wand from side to side, so that you’re clumping the lashes together. Open your eyes to reveal the final look.

5

Hydrate your lips

Keep the rest of your look tonal by coating lips with a thin layer of Maybelline New York’s Baby Lips.

6

Highlight away

With the lip balm, apply another thin layer of product along cheekbones and on eyelids to add a light sheen to the face.

Highlighting with a lip balm can give your look a real sexy edge, and makes it look really lived-in and natural.
