How To Fix Common Men's Eye Care Concerns - Chris Pratt

And how to fix them

Your eyes aren’t just the windows to your soul. They also call you out when you’re tired or hungover and can make you look older than your years. Use this simple men's eye care guide to fix unsightly problems.

1

Wrinkles

It’s a fact that dry skin ages significantly faster than hydrated skin. So if your
face could double as an accordion, it’s time to suck
it up and invest in an eye cream. But what ingredients do you need? “Look for low concentration vitamin A creams and alpha hydroxy acids,” says dermatologist Dr Shobhan Manoharan. “These help fine lines and wrinkles by inducing collagen remodelling, improving elasticity and benefitting tone and texture.”

Dark circles

To combat dark under-eye circles, first, get more sleep; research published in the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Dermatology found poor sleep quality is associated with increased signs of ageing and dark circles. Again, eye cream
can help. Look for vitamin A based creams to exfoliate and renew the area, and hydroquinone and kojic acid to help fade, says Manoharan. Also, drink more water: dehydration makes dark circles appear worse.

UV exposure

“By the time you turn 60, your unprotected eyes will be exposed to as much UV light as a nuclear blast,” says Richard Walker, product developer at Maui Jim. The sun accelerates rapid ageing, with exposure harming the connective-tissue “scaffolding” of the skin, says Manoharan. Protect yourself with sunnies. Large lenses that cover the eye and curve around it do a better job of blocking damaging rays, says Walker.
