How to master Blake Lively’s insanely pretty smoky eye

Blake Lively at the premiere of A Simple Favor in New York City has us scrambling for the nearest burgundy eyeshadow palette.

Blake stepped out looking stunning as always. No surprise, her braid game was on point once again; only it wasn’t our favourite thing – it’s her statement smoky eye look that stole our hearts. And it has us super keen to break out a similar look on our next night out.

She’s the epitome of smoky-eyed perfection, right?

And the best news? Thanks to Blake’s long-time celebrity makeup artist, Kristofer Buckle, we have ALL the glorious deets on the makeup products you’ll need to copy this exact eye look.

Buckle posted a close-up of Blake’s makeup look, revealing that the products he used are from his own makeup range, “Last nights look I did with @blakelively for the premiere of @asimplefavor my Premiere Pallet on her eyes, Exposure Warming Powder in deep to sculpt, Brow Champion in blonde. Hair @rodortega4hair nails @enamelle #beauty #makeup #kristoferbuckle #movie.”

In a statement, Buckle revealed that the look was vintage inspired. “Blake’s look tonight was a hybrid of ’70s disco and 1930s Berlin. I wanted her lips to be present but matte, while her skin offsets the lip with its beautiful glowing texture.” 

While we can’t get Kristofer Buckle’s products in Australia, Maybelline New York’s Burgundy Bar Eyeshadow Palette and L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche La Palette in Nude Rose are very similar.

To replicate that killer smoked-out eye, take a combination of warm matte and metallic burgundy hues, blending the powders up towards the crease for a soft, smoky effect. Repeat this blending process on the lower lash line. It looks like Buckle also added a touch of highlighting powder to the inner corner of Blake’s eyes to make them pop.

For those nothing-short-of-perfection brows, Buckle credited his Brow Champion in Blonde pomade and powder. We love how her brows look sculpted and defined without being too dramatic; a winning combo for keeping her features soft and feminine.

Aside from her flawless makeup look, the star also showed off the coolest detail ever – a teeny sparkly martini glass on her left and right ring fingers – apparently it’s a reference to her character in the movie. This isn’t the first time Blake has sported a cleverly detailed nail look. Check out her EPIC manicure for the premier of the Deadpool movie. Hint: It’s a super cute homage to her husband, Ryan Reynolds. 

Blake’s celebrity nail artist Elle dreamed up the cocktail nail art and posted an up-close shot of the onyx mani and the cute little martini, revealing it was actually made from Swarovski crystals. Yep, nothing by halves here people.
