Purple eyeshadow is having a *moment* right now

Here’s how to nail the look for yourself

We’ve been caught in a purple haze of late; delighting in eyelids adorned in shades of violet, indigo and plum. And it's not just us; celebs are loving the look, too.

Case in purple-hued point? Dua Lipa and her amazing amethyst shadow. She's gone for major colour payoff (and a covetable glossy finish), but kept the shape simple, applying it as an all-over wash with no harsh lines (except that flawless cat-eye, of course).

That's certainly not the only way to wear the trend, either; enjoy the sumptuous shade in a mixture of textures depending on your mood or the occasion. Think grape soda glitter on the weekends and refined lilac eyeliner for demure office days.

We’ve armed you with adequate inspo of course, but admittedly with purple being a colour not worn often enough in our opinion, there’s always room to play around and create a more intuitive beat a la Euphoria.

Want to level up your look even further? Take Rihanna's lead with an all-in amethyst cat eye. The Fenty Beauty founder did not come to play during Milan Fashion Week, showing off a statement shadow wing that confirmed that the purple trend is still going very strong.

Here are some tools to get you on your way to achieving lavender dream realness:

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Norvina Pro Pigment Eyeshadow Palette Vol 5 ($110 at Sephora); Morphe 2 Jelly Eye Shimmer in 'Bolt' ($15 at MECCA); and Napoleon Perdis Metalslicks Liquid Eyeliner in 'Nymph Dust' ($35 at Adore Beauty).

Want to get really wild? Try green eye makeup (AKA the trend we never thought we'd get behind).
