The one sunscreen that doesn’t make Josephine Skriver’s combination skin break out

BLESSING ALERT

Digital Beauty Editor / January 14 2021

Anyone with a pulse and a face knows how important proper sun protection is, so it’s not like we’re trying to weasel our way out of applying it or anything… but still, we must admit, the breakouts some sunscreens bring with them are anything but fun.

You can pretty much double the struggle if you’re dealing with an oily or combination skin type, too – extra layers lead to extra congestion, AKA the enemy of any oil or acne-prone complexion.

So, whenever we hear a recommendation for an SPF that keeps your skin shielded without inviting blemishes into the equation, our ears definitely prick up.

However, when said recommendation comes from Josephine Skriver, a woman with one of the clearest complexions we’ve ever seen (as well as zero signs of sun damage), we don’t just add it to our ‘try it down the track’ list; we add to cart immediately.

Wondering what this wonder product is? None other than Elta MD’s UV Clear Sunscreen, an oil-free zinc oxide-powered SPF designed specifically for sensitivity or congestion-prone skin types. Thank you, sunscreen gods.

Skriver definitely experienced her fair share of sunscreen struggles before finding her favourite formula, though: “It took me a while to find one that didn't break out. This one was recommended by my skin doctor and [I] love it,” she shared. The climb only makes the view greater, right?

FYI (because we know you were wondering), it sits like a dream under makeup (or alone if solo SPF is more your style), is totally fragrance-free, and leaves skin nicely hydrated but never oily. It’s also super sheer so you won’t feel like you’re wearing much at all, but its SPF40 status will definitely work to keep your face protected.

And hey, just in case one glowing endorsement from an equally glowing gal isn’t enough, take solace in the fact that Kendall Jenner is also a big fan…
