This glitter eye moment at Paris Fashion Week was seriously next level

Kaia Gerber looked like an emerald dream

We need to talk about the glitter eye business at Paris Fashion Week, because it was NEXT. LEVEL.

Models like Kaia Gerber walked the Valentino SS19 runway wearing *actual* gems on their eyelids in a jaw-dropping move by celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath.

Looking like an absolute emerald dream, the models showed off uber blingy rhinestones all over their eyes, with their lids painted a stunning metallic green shade. The gemstones were used to create a set of dramatic wings that wrapped around the eyebrows for a totally out-of-this-world look.

To keep all eyes on, well, the eyes, the rest of the makeup was kept minimal with dewy skin, a rosy blush and some lip balm.

On Instagram, McGrath shared a close-up of Kaia’s makeup, writing, "EXTRAVAGANT BEAUTY The DIVINE @kaiagerber at @pppiccioli @maisonvalentino #PFW#ValentinoSS19 wearing hand-applied @swarovski crystals. Hair by @guidopalau#makeupbypatmcgrath #teampatmcgrath

Yep, you read that correctly – hand-applied Swarovski crystals.

Kaia – who BTW was just announced as the newest (and youngest!) beauty ambassador for Yves Saint Laurent Beauté – also shared a shot of the stunning look, writing “beautiful @maisonvalentinotoday. thank you to the visionary who is @pppiccioli ❤️@patmcgrathreal for this incredible eye moment, and the whole family @guidopalau #joemckenna@italia3bis

While youre probably not going to show up to work wearing green Swarovski crystals on your eyes, we reckon you could definitely rock a similar look on your next night out.

And, according to Pinterest, it seems there's actually never been a better time to break out your green eyeshadow palette! It's been reported that emerald green is one of the most popular colours for spring in Australia, with an 85 per cent increase in saves since last year.

To get on board the trend, try Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 28 or Napoleon Perdis Loose Eye Dust in Emerald City. If a green lid doesn't work for you, swap your usual black liner for an emerald shade such as Kat Von D Beauty Liquid Liner in Dali - Teal.

If you’re looking for some more green makeup inspo (hint: this colour is bang on trend right now!), take a look at Shay Micthell’s epic green eyeshadow look and Lucy Hale’s glamorous emerald smoky eye
