Supermodels, they have bad skin days just like us. Kendall Jenner has never shied away from discussing her struggle with acne. After the 23-year-old was criticised on social media for attending the 2018 Golden Globes with visible blemishes, she was quick to hit back tweeting, "never let that sh*t [sic] stop you!" We couldn't help but notice that Jenner's skin had done a complete 180.

Last week, Jenner was announced as the new spokesperson for ProActiv, finally letting fans in on the secret to her skins healthy glow. However, the model was heavily criticised on social media for "queerbaiting" her fans by releasing a teaser to the announcement that claimed she was going to reveal her "raw story". The video, posted by Kris Jenner, used the hashtags, "#bethechange, #shareyourstory, and #changetheconversation", which left fans unsurprisingly annoyed when they discovered the announcement was a business deal.

Kendall has stayed quiet on her newest gig...until now.

Kendall took to her social media to share the 'debilitating' journey she's been on.

"While there are much bigger problems happening in the world, suffering from acne for me was debilitating," the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star began.

"It’s something that I’ve dealt with since I was a young teen and has caused me to feel anxious, helpless and insecure. As humans, I don’t think we share our insecurities enough because we live in a time where being 'perfect' is the standard. We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post. I’d like to show a younger generation that not everything is perfect.

"Being insecure about my acne gave me thick skin but I wouldn’t ever wish that feeling upon anyone so after trying countless options, I found something that has been helpful in maintaining clear skin for me. It’s been a long journey but I’m excited for where my skin is now. I didn’t think I’d see the day where I would feel confident posting a makeup free picture. My goal is to open up a dialogue around skin positivity."

Kendall also took to her Instagram Stories to share a '10 year challenge' that showed her skin when it was at its worst.

"I was 13 and ran home crying every day because people would stare at my skin," she wrote, adding the hashtag "#10yearchallenge".
