Wet skin? No problem. This sunscreen is our Review Crew’s pick this summer

Here’s what our Review Crew® had to say about this innovative sunscreen

The product

If there’s one thing we hate during summer, it’s having to reapply sunscreen after taking a swim. We’re talking white streaks and patchy coverage. Water and sunscreen just don’t mix.

Luckily, La Roche-Posay Anthelios Wet Skin SPF50+ Sunscreen is a broad spectrum sunscreen that doesn’t compromise on protection, with a wet skin formula that can be applied directly to post-swim skin. With four hours water resistance, plus a sensitive-skin friendly formula, non-greasy finish and without the white cast traditional sunscreens are notorious for – this is going to be your new summer staple.

Our panel of Review Crew® testers put this wet-skin sunscreen to the test.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent La Roche-Posay Anthelios Wet Skin SPF50+ Sunscreen to a panel of women aged 25 to 44 with a range of skin types, including a proclivity for skin sensitivity.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Wet Skin SPF50+ Sunscreen.

The innovative wet-skin formula: Our members loved the forward-thinking wet-skin formula that allowed them to reapply directly to wet skin after taking a dip.

No white cast: Reviewers liked the fact that they didn’t have to worry about a white cast. Even when applied to wet skin, the sunscreen quickly absorbed down to an invisible finish.

Sensitive skin-friendly: Those of our members with skin sensitivities such as rosacea and eczema found the formula gentle enough to protect them from the sun's harmful rays without creating irritation.

The verdict

“Fantastic sunscreen for sensitive skin! I was excited to receive this sunscreen as part of a trial as I have sensitive rosacea prone skin and my 12 year old son has eczema. Finding a suitable sunscreen for us both has been very difficult. This product is very similar to the Anthelios Invisible Fluid Facial Sunscreen SPF50+. It has a slightly thicker consistency but the same invisible finish, absorbs really well and doesn’t feel sticky or greasy. Most importantly it didn’t cause a rosacea or eczema flare in my family. I will definitely repurchase this product.”

“The formula is light-weight, non-greasy and blends into the skin without leaving any trace of a white cast or sticky film. I LOVE that you can apply this sunscreen onto wet-skin! Honestly, I was a little sceptical about applying it to wet skin at first, however it does work, and it works well! It makes re-applying sunscreen at the beach a breeze. I don't know how I ever managed before this wet-skin invention. I love that the product is an SPF 50+ and protects the skin against UVA and also UVB rays - it keeps my mind at ease knowing that my skin is protected. It also comes in a very generous sized tube and the packaging is super cute as well. This product has quickly become a staple in my beach bag this summer season.”

“It leaves my skin feeling moisturized; but while still applying a good amount of spf. This product is one of the only sunscreens that fully absorbs and doesn't leave me looking like a greasy mess… I can't feel it once it dries… [it’s] slightly watery, and is very easy to spread across my face and body. It also dries pretty quickly and does not leave a white cast in photos. It just feels smooth to the touch… Perfect to use if you’re sweating, doing sports or going in the water.”
