The one mask every gal with sensitive skin needs in her skin care kit

Here’s what our Review Crew® thought of the detox mask

The product

Masks do so much more than just pamper skin – depending on the formula you choose, they can tackle almost any skin care concern – whether you’re looking to decongest, brighten, hydrate or fight the signs of ageing. The bad news? The mask market can be a bit of a minefield for gals with sensitive skin – especially when looking for something to detox your skin without leaving it feeling red and irritated.

L’Oréal Paris is making the search a little easier (and less hurty on the face), with their latest addition to the Pure Clay Mask family - the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Soothing Mask. Created specifically for sensitive skin types, it’s a hypoallergenic detox clay mask, and it’s pretty much the one mask everyone with sensitive skin has been looking for.

It features kaolin clay to deeply cleanse and detoxify, while the ghassoul clay prevents your skin from drying out. It also contains mallow polyphenol to reduce irritation and soothe the skin. The result? Smooth, bright and healthy-looking skin in just 10 minutes.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Soothing Mask to women aged between 18 and 30 with sensitive skin who were looking for a face mask that wouldn’t dry or irritate their skin.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Soothing Mask:

That it didn’t irritate skin: The number one thing reviewers loved most about this mask was how gentle it was, with many commenting on how calming and soothing the formula felt on their skin. Additionally, many were also surprised at how the mask worked to reduce redness and even out their skin tone.

How soft and smooth their skin felt after use: Many testers were worried that the mask would leave their skin feeling dry and tight like other clay masks have in the past, however, the majority of reviewers were impressed by how soft and smooth it left their skin.

How it cleared blemishes: Not only did members comment on how smooth their skin felt after use, but they also loved how it reduced the redness, size and overall appearance of pimples.

The verdict

“I love a good mask, but my sensitive skin means I have to be very careful what I use. This clay mask was absolutely perfect - my skin felt clean, smooth and most of all, not irritated.” – Tammy S
“The formula applies really easily and has such a nice, smooth texture. A little bit of this product goes a long way, making it value for money. Once applied, the mask gives such a cooling and refreshing sensation to the skin. I could really feel it soothing my sensitive and inflamed skin. After washing it off with warm water, my face felt sooo smooth and my skin tone appeared more even.” – Monique B
“This mask is great for sensitive skin. I found that the redness on my cheeks was reduced with each application and my skin overall looked brighter. It also works wonders on pimples and is great to apply before your primer for a special event. The colour of the mask and the scent is also really lovely.” – Holly R
