This humble little pot of lotion does a world of good

LUSH’s Charity Pot Hand And Body Lotion Is More Than Just An Amazing Moisturiser

And not just for your skin…

This simple little pot of hand and body lotion may appear humble and unassuming, but outside its obvious intended use, it carries a deeper serving purpose…

In addition to being a darn good nourishing lotion for your skin, LUSH’s Charity Pot Hand and Body Lotion is in fact a fundraising vehicle that supports a whole heap of charitable (and very worthwhile) causes.

Each time a LUSH Charity Pot is sold, 100 per cent of the sales (minus taxes) are donated to a variety of grassroots charities and not-for-profit groups in Australia and New Zealand, such as Grata Fund - a group that uses litigation as a powerful tool to protect and advance the rights and freedoms of all people.

Since the program’s inception in 2008, over 130,000 Charity Pots have been sold in Australia and New Zealand *each* year.

This has resulted in a whopping $3.5 million being raised and donated to over 91 charities and not-for-profits - allowing a whole heap of incredible causes to be brought to fruition.

And that’s not all – even its ingredients have been carefully selected to support the humanitarian-centred ethos behind Charity Pot.

The lotion is made from fresh, ethically sourced ingredients including fair trade shea butter from a women’s cooperative in Ghana where it is hand-processed using traditional methods. It also features ylang ylang oil from a sustainable plantation in Brazil and fair trade cocoa butter from a Columbian community that have pledged to non-violence in an area rife with unrest from the army, leftist guerilla fights, and right-wing paramilitary groups.

As for the packaging, the pots (like all of LUSH’s body lotions) are made from recycled and recyclable plastic.

We think you could call that a moisturiser on a mission!

Earlier this year, LUSH also launched their new ‘naked’ packaging-free collection. Check out the full story here.
