The lowdown

Here's what the Review Crew® loved about Designer Brands Luminous Hydrating Foundation:

How dewy it made the skin: Our Review Crew® loved the way this formula worked to illuminate their features. Additionally, many reviewers mentioned that they didn’t have to use their liquid highlighter as the foundation provided all the natural luminosity they needed.

How lightweight it feels: Testers were also impressed by the light formula, with many commenting on how it still provided a buildable and even coverage. Some also mentioned the foundation’s ability to cover problem areas and imperfections without looking cakey.

How perfect it was for everyday wear: Offering a natural and glowing finish, most reviewers found that this was the perfect option for everyday wear.

Good to know: While testers with dry skin were especially impressed with how hydrating it felt on their skin, a few testers found that the foundation wasn’t suitable for oily skin.

The verdict

“This product absolutely blew me away. My skin is combination dry and oily and this foundation gave very even and good coverage, camouflaging imperfections without looking ‘caked on’ or ‘flakey’. It gave my skin a very luminescent glow without looking oily. It has fantastic mileage, which is great if you are like me and don't like to reapply anything but lipstick.”

“The Designer Brands Luminous Hydrating Foundation is so amazing. It’s such a lightweight formula, that’s also so buildable and covers all of my freckles (none of my other foundations do this!). As soon as I put it on, my skin looked dewy and glowing and it looked like this the whole day without fading. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone because it’s amazing. This is now my number one foundation!”

“I am in love with this foundation! The coverage is amazing – being medium but easily buildable, covering all of my imperfections. The finish is quite dewy but doesn’t look too oily, so I feel that it would work best for dry skin but can still work for people who are slightly on the oily side, like me. It also stayed amazingly throughout the day. I found that a primer helped to prolong the wear of the foundation. Overall it’s amazing and I’ll definitely be repurchasing once I run out!”
