The new way to do a winged eyeliner look

It’s the lighter version you can wear every day

Who doesn’t love a sexy cat eye flick? It’s arguably the quickest way to transform your eyes so they look brighter and bigger. And it’s also flirtatiously feminine, adding a little ‘pop’ to your usual eye makeup.

But here’s the problem: sometimes a sultry winged eyeliner can be a little too heavy for the daytime…but you also feel completely bare without it.

Thankfully, there’s an easy solution.

Patrick Ta, celebrity makeup artist and go-to glam squad for Kourtney Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, Gigi Hadid and Olivia Munn, has shared a new way to create a cat eye look in a recent interview with Refinery29.

The secret is to make the line extremely thin. "The most popular look right now, and the one that all my clients want, is a super-thin line," Ta says. "So thin it's almost like it isn't even there, but it still has the cat eye effect."

Ta explains all you need to create this look is a super skinny angled brush with synthetic fibres, and a dark eyeshadow. For something a little more dramatic, switch to a gel eyeliner. Patrick’s favourite: Tarte's Tarteist Clay Paint Liner. "It's my all-time favourite because it doesn't dry out, it's water-resistant, and it never creases," he told Refinery29.
