Up the wattage of your highlighter for just $9

Highlighters are a little slice of heaven and we love them dearly. They can make you look like you’ve slept eight hours when you’ve actually been dancing the night away, and like you woke up with lit-from-within skin even though your complexion looked lacklustre and dull just minutes prior. They are also 100 per cent the best way to zhoosh up your look because glowing skin can turn heads like no other.

And while you may believe you’re already getting the most out of your beloved highlighter, we have some game-changing news. According to a viral post by Instagrammer Arielle Stenner, the trick to blinding highlighter is actually in a slick of Bio-Oil.

The 17-year-old Aussie says that the key to her off-the-charts shine is by “[applying] Bio-Oil on the place where you are going to highlight and it turns your highlight into a damn sunbeam.”

This cute little bottle of orange elixir costs just $9 and essentially acts as a kind of primer for your powder highlighter, making it appear richer and more radiant. Packed with vitamin A and E, this multitasking hero is also super kind to your skin. It’s win win.

And if you’re a fan of matte and powder formulas, don’t stress. Arielle says, “If you apply a really thin layer with your finger in a patting motion, it shouldn’t disrupt your makeup or remove it.”

“I haven’t had any problems with it! But it could [differ] depending on the type of foundation you wear, I guess.”
