The time has come once again, and we’re super sad to see the big four international fashion weeks come to an end for the fall and winter period. Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve witnessed classic beauty looks at New York Fashion Week, pared-back nude colours at London Fashion Week, and gorgeous eye makeup looks at Milan Fashion Week: yet for Paris Fashion Week, the texture and tone of skin was the focus. Here, discover our favourite beauty looks from the French shows, and learn how to recreate them at home.
If you like bronzer, bronzer, and more bronzer
Despite being a fashion show exhibiting wintery clothes, the girls at Saint Laurent Fall 2017 wore copious amounts of bronzer to offset the dark-coloured clothing. Swirl a large fluffy brush around a bronzer palette, like Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Les Saharienne Bronzing Stones, and work the brush in horizontal movements across your forehead, then underneath your cheekbones for a contoured effect.
If you like a bright base
At the Moncler Fall 2017 show, the models wore foundation that looked like their skin, only better. Mimic the same look with shu uemura blanc:chroma brightening uv cushion foundation - it’s a brightening base that melts into skin and feels like you’re wearing nothing at all. Work the product in with tapping motions over areas that need the most attention to create a natural, flawless finish.
If you like a lit-from-within glow
The girls at Lanvin Fall 2017 show had glowing complexions that looked healthy yet totally believable. At home, go for an illuminating product, such as Tom Ford Illuminating Highlight Pen, and apply it to the high points of your face. Then with your ring finger, blend it into your foundation for a seamless finish.
If you like an athletic finish
Sexy, dewy skin? Yes please; it looks as though the athleisure look is here to stay. Get the same lived-in glow as the Issey Miyake Fall 2017 look at home with an illuminating liquid, like MAC Strobe Cream, mixed into your foundation for a luminous (not oily) sheen all over.
If you like a perfect-looking base
One texture that’ll always stay in fashion is a velvet base, which was seen at the Isabel Marant Fall 2017 show. Get the look with COVERGIRL TRUblend Liquid Makeup, and use the warmth of your fingers to melt the product into your complexion.
If you like a matte look all over
The models at CHANEL Fall 2017 had skin that was the perfect balance between matte and dewy. A finishing powder, like CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder SPF 15/ Pa++, can be used to recreate the same stunning effect. Work it all over the skin to mattify your foundation, or pat it over oily areas (like your T-zone) to keep shine at bay.
If you like a touch of highlight
We can’t get enough of the pared-back look from the Dior Fall 2017 show, and it requires very little effort to achieve at home. With a compact like Dior Diorskin Diorblush Sculpt, use the lighter shade to dust onto cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose, and then use the darker shade to accentuate the hollows of your cheeks. You want to bring out your features, but only very subtly.
