Meet The Crew: Arielle Tsoukatos, marie claire and InStyle

Senior Digital Beauty & Lifestyle Editor

Tell us a bit about your experience in the industry?
My first job in the industry was in the role of beauty assistant at Women’s Health magazine. That was five-years-ago and I haven’t looked back since. I’ve held a slew of different positions since then, but my passion for beauty is just as strong.

What’s been your biggest career highlight?
It’s tough to top interviewing Margot Robbie on the red carpet. While I was too star struck to remember much from our chat, I distinctly recall her glittering Chanel eye make-up by makeup artist Pati Dubroff. Talk about #Goals.

What’s been your favourite beauty discovery?
I can’t pick just one! There are too many.

What do you think is the one beauty product every woman should own?
A broad spectrum SPF and a multi-purpose balm.

What’s the best beauty tip you’ve ever learnt?
Bondi Sands co-founder Blair James warns against applying self-tanner after a shower or bath. Steam makes your pores expand – resulting in those pesky dark dots that commonly occur when applying fake tan to your legs or arms. For foolproof tanning, wait for you skin to cool down and always start at your feet as not to run the risk of creating lines or creases from bending over.

Confess your biggest beauty sin
Ok, I would never advocate anyone try this at home and I can’t actually believe I’m confessing to this: I wax my own eyebrows. My mum owns her own salon and one day I got tired of waiting for her to do them so I went rogue.

What’s your biggest beauty battle?
See above.

Who is your beauty idol?
I love getting inspiration and tips from make-up artist and real girls on Pinterest and Instagram. My number one inspiration is my grandmother – her skin is beautiful and she’s aged so gracefully.

The three beauty products we’d find in your cosmetic bag right now
Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème, Mac Strobe Cream and Dior Addict Lip Glow

What is your beauty philosophy?
Play by your own rules.
