Tell us a bit about your experience in the industry.
Fresh out of university with a bachelor in media, I started an internship at beautyheaven – not really knowing anything about beauty or digital. After four years (and a few steps up the ladder) there, I was promoted to Editor of the site. After a year in that role, I left to join Pacific Magazines as the editor for this very site, BEAUTYcrew.
What’s been your biggest career highlight?
There have been a few! Being named editor for the first time in my career will always have a special place in my heart, and I’ve travelled to some pretty amazing destinations for work – Beijing, Singapore, New Zealand, Paris, and New York for Fashion Week!
What’s been your favourite beauty discovery?
Not so much a product, but a feature – bolder brows! I’ve spent the last four years growing my brows out and the difference is amazing.
What do you think is the one beauty product every woman should own?
What’s the best beauty tip you’ve ever learnt?
This one’s from the early days in my career – if you have small eyes, don’t line your entire top and bottom lash line, because this will only make them look smaller. Instead, you should line just a bit on the outer corners to open eyes right up.
Confess your biggest beauty sin.
I sometimes only use a face wipe before bed. At least it’s better than when I used to face-plant into my pillow with a full face on!
What’s your biggest beauty battle?
Congestion! I have to go for regular extraction facials to keep my skin in top shape.
Who is your beauty idol?
Kate Bosworth. Her skin and glowing complexion is just amazing. But also Helen Mirren, she has aged amazingly and still has fun with her beauty looks.
3 beauty products we’d find in your cosmetics bag right now?
What is your beauty philosophy?
If you feel good wearing it, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
