And her favourite guilty pleasure post-show

While Victoria’s Secret models are known for their perfectly blown out waves, bronzed cheekbones and glossed lips, there is no denying the most talked about aspect of the annual fashion show is their chiselled abs and toned limbs. We can only imagine the rigorous workouts and strict diets they must stick to.

But when Martha Hunt revealed the diet and exercise routine she followed in the lead up to the 2016 fashion show, we were relieved to find out it’s more doable than expected. The model told food website, The New Potato that in the 72 hours leading up to the show, the biggest thing that changes in her diet, surprisingly, is that she actually eats more! “I try to eat cleaner than usual. I’ll have Greek yoghurt or eggs for breakfast, sushi for lunch, and salmon, chicken or meat with vegetables and healthy carbs for dinner. I eat more than usual, because the workouts burn so many calories. Most of my snacks involve peanut butter or almond butter,” she says.

As far as exercise goes, pre-show Martha revealed that “last year I amped up the workouts leading up to the show. I probably worked out five times a week for three weeks. I don’t know if I will go that hard again!” For her regular exercise schedule however, she credits yoga for lengthening and toning and low reps with heavier weights to help build muscle.

When she’s not about to take to the Victoria’s Secret runway, the model says she’s a sucker for some takeaway pizza and will always choose sleep over a workout.Even though I live in the city known for pizza, I order Dominos pepperoni pizza with extra sauce once in a while.”

While we may not have the time (or motivation!) to work out five times a week, it is nice to know that sometimes supermodels choose sleep over working out too, and that a sneaky slice (or three) of pizza is by no means the end of the world.
