For New York Fashion Week's Spring/Summer 2020 showings, Tory Burch decided to take her fascination with Lady Diana Spencer a notch further. The collection, while not meant as a literal homage, showed the '80s subculture that Diana created. The collection exuded English garden florals, blouson shapes, delicate pastel shades and geometric prints adding an understated nostalgic quality.

“I took my cue from Diana Spencer, whom I have been fascinated with since I was young," Burch said of the collection. "Clearly, she was a style icon, but I loved her fearlessness, her intelligence and, most of all, her humanity. She left a legacy of giving back that embodies what I admire most, one that has been instilled in our Foundation and company since the beginning. This collection brings together English garden florals, a restrained volume and my own take on the Eighties.”

The standout though was Burch's reinvention of the posh-girl accessory: the hair comb. Hairstylist Guido Palau also repurposed the humble hair comb with spray pain in poppy pastel shades such as lemon, mint green, peach, raspberry and periwinkle. Models hair was left natural and slightly texturised, courtesy of a halo of Redken’s new Triple Pure 32 hairspray, which ingeniously, has a neutral fragrance.
