The People’s Choice Awards is always a fun night; From the silly on-stage antics to the outrageous fashion displays on the carpet pre-show, the event really doesn’t skip a beat when it comes to keeping us plebeians firmly entertained.
Though COVID-19 has disjointed the awards season somewhat, with virtual shows leveraging the restrictions on crowds and social distancing, the evening still managed to deliver some eye-catching looks that we’ll be keeping in mind for the upcoming silly season.
Notepads at the ready – here are the best beauty looks of the 2020 People’s Choice awards:
Yep that’s right Lovato’s done a Hannah Montana and switched her chocolate-hued lengths for an icy blonde wig moment that’s left us doing multiple double takes – WHO IS SHE??!!
The singer delighted us with a rose gold smokey eye subtly masked behind a fluttery set of falsies and a daring red lacquered lip. Divine.
Tracee Ellis Ross
Metallic finishes seemed to be the motif of the evening, with Tracee Ellis Ross donning a copper wash of shadow across her lids, anchored down by an eye-defining swoop of black liner and a cherry red powder-matte lip.
Brights were the focal point of Jamil’s red carpet look. The Good Place actress matched her neon pink lippie to her oversized suit and adorned her eyes with a sparkly black glitter carved out into a ‘60s-inspired shape.
Showing off her quarantine barber skills, Tiffany Haddish accompanied her short new ‘do with a brown velvet eye look, excellently groomed brows and a nudie lip colour that we’re going to need a dupe for STAT.
The TikTok star sent us with a monochrome burgundy makeup look that showed off the dancers stunning smile and sparkling brown eyes. The icing on the cake has to be her face-snatching ponytail and hip-grazing extensions.
The young actress kept things simple for the night, pulling focus to her clarified complexion and casually waved bob. A small smudge of liner added to the waterline accentuated her remarkably blue eyes.
This woman can do no wrong on a red carpet, even when she’s bringing it back to basics. This peach-hued nude makeup moment adds just the right amount of warmth to Moore’s perfect skin.
The Grey’s Anatomy star brought us back to the peak of the 2000s with a frosted lid look and a matching nude gloss to accentuate her flushed skin, finished with a light wash of highlighter.
