This is a refreshing and controlling toner to give my skin a helping hand to act more matte than it really wants to.  It tones down my oily skin - atleast for a few hours - relieving me of that shiny look.  This is a very helpful product  for me to use on my skin during  times of the month when my skin is playing up and producing even more oil than it usually does.   I tend to have a very oily T-Zone with dry skin near my eyes, lips and ears and normal skin on my cheeks so I personally have ageing oily-combination skin.   It is a clear product solution but when shaken up,  the white powdery stuff at the bottom (which is meant to be there and I expect is the powdered berry seeds) turns the solution to a frosted white colour.  It feels somehow satisfying to shake this just before each use - probably because I know it's the right thing to do and I'm mixing all the active ingredients up!  I use a make-up cotton round to wipe this all over my freshly cleansed face but I especially focus on my oily T-Zone.  It feels lovely and fresh and after a few seconds my skin looks matte and is ready for my serum.    I love that this tonic is free of parabens and dyes.  It claims to be suitable for sensitive skin which means it must be quite a mild mixture.   I don't have sensitive skin so I can't really vouch for that but it is a well-scented product and the label has a symbol showing that you shouldn't get it in the eyes (which makes sense really!).  It says on the bottle that it's made for combination-oily skin types.   The 200ml plastic bottle has an easy screw on lid and if I dropped this bottle it wouldn't break because the plastic is lovely and sturdy and feels strong, not brittle. My best tip:  Give this a satisfyingly good shake just before you use it each time.
Ever since we were young, we have been told the mantra; Cleanse, tone and moisturise! Whilst I have tried my best to follow the beauty tips my mother passed on to me such as taking your makeup off before bed, drinking plenty of water etc. I had neglected to add a toner to my daily regime. I felt with the cleansing and exfoliating there simply wasn't a need for it.  I received the Avon Nutra effects range in a Beauty Crew prize pack last year and was excited at trying a whole new range. The toner claims to clean excess dirt and oils from the skin without  stripping it of its natural moisture, not unlike the cleanser from the same range. At first I was very happy with my new found toner, I wiped over my skin with a cotton pad after cleansing morning and night. It felt refreshing and my sensitive skin wasn't left feeling tight or dry. However, not long after trialing this new range it became clear to me that my skin wasn't agreeing to one of the products, after cutting out each one I found out it was the toner. Whilst it doesn't feel drying, my skin did breakout and since stopping using the toner (but still using the rest of the range)my skin is great.  If you have sensitive skin and try this range I suggest you monitor your skin and slowly introduce each product.  I wanted so badly to like it but I guess I will have to keep searching for a toner to add to my repertoire.
