I had a handful of Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild samples which I used over a two week period to judge how effective they were. This product is suitable for dry combination skin which I have.
The clear liquid facial soap has a gel consistency which gently lathered while I worked the product over my wet skin. I then used a damp makeup towel to remove all traces of makeup. This is a mild facial soap that didn’t leave my skin feeling stripped of its natural oils. It is non-irritating and not at all drying.
I’m not sure if I would purchase a bottle of the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap because my preferred cleansers are either an oil or a balm cleanser but the product was okay while I used it over the two weeks.
As a gentle facial cleanser this is perfect. I usually apply it after a mud mask as a way of ensuring my skin is clean. It leaves my skin feeling clean and soft and doesn't dry out my skin.
I used the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild when I had sensitive skin because this is a very gentle facial soap that doesn't irritate my skin. This facial soap can't remove makeup so I would remove my makeup with makeup remover first then use this facial soap as a double cleanse to remove any remaining dirt and grimes. It doesn't try out my skin at all, instead my skin felt clean and hydrated and it is affordable for daily use.
I have combination skin that can get sensitive at times. Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild has been in my skincare routine for years now and I have never had any rashes or itchiness from using this product. It is unscented and leaves my skin feeling clean but never dry. The biggest bonus is that I can use it in the shower!
I would recommend this product to anyone that has sensitive skin.
This is a great cleanser for combination skin moving into summer. It cleanses well without stripping your skin of all moisture. It has a light texture and seems to last forever and ever. Highly recommend it for the summer change in your regime. I don't usually use Clinique but would recommend this one
I have had an on again / off again relationship with Clinique for years. My first introduction to the brand was when,in my 20's,i received a little sample set of the 3 step routine, and i loved the moisturiser.Fast forward many years, and my love of anything that foams to cleanse remains, and yet i need to use something gentle to avoid over stripping my skin.
The Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (in Mild),is a lovely, foaming cleanser that effectively, yet gently removes both makeup (i don't wear a full face daily, but to get sunscreen / blush and a little eyeliner / mascara..not waterproof) and the day's grime, with effortless ease. The rich, viscous, clear (and unscented,so perfect if fragrance isn't your thing) liquid (almost gel) texture means that you need only a small amount to get the job done, and yet you don't feel like your skin is "two sizes too small" for your face afterwards.Another i liked about this cleanser, was the fact that it was perfect for other uses as well (we multitask,so should your products)....a body wash,a shave foam stand - in for the man in your life,a shampoo (hey,ONLY in an emergency, but sometimes, when traveling, desperate times call for desperate measures) and a bath foam (try a capfull in the tub).Another huge plus is the packaging...plastic (so no breaking if it drops in the shower or when thrown around in your luggage),pump top (one pump = one application) and the clean, simplistic look (so your man won't mind using it,and he may even find that he takes a renewed interest in his skin). And finally, what about the cost factor ? Well,at under $30 for 200ml,this is priced to give many products you would find in the supermarket a run for their money.Add to that the multi usability, and you have a product that i believe you will love.
TIP:As this is a liquid cleanser, why not amp up the results and try it with a cleansing brush ?
I have been using this cleanser for years and I find that it's one that I always come back to. I have combination skin and that can be the trickiest skin type to treat as you can have some parts of your face be really oily while other parts dry and sensitive. This makes choosing products difficult as it can solve one problem but not the other. Some cleansers can be very drying while others may not work well enough so you feel as though your face is still dirty. The Clinique liquid facial soap is mild and will get the job done of removing excess dirt and oil but without irritating your skin. It comes in a pump and the bottle is quite big so it will last you awhile making it very economical. I have used this cleanser both on its own and with makeup and I find that it works well for both situations. The cleanser is lightweight and it lathers up gently. You can use it with your hands, a washcloth or with a manual or electrical facial brush. I like using it with my Clarisonic as I find it provides a deeper clean but for most days I just use my hands. It takes my makeup off really well, including eye makeup and all the dirt and oil that has accumulated on my face is gone. It gives you that clean feeling but without that horrible tight and dry feeling. I do have some breakouts on my cheeks, chin and forehead and whenever I use this cleanser I find that there is less redness around those areas and the acne itself starts to reduce in size. Sometimes using a gentle product is a lot more effective at preventing and reducing acne than harsher products.
This product is best used to remove make-up on a cotton pad.
The only downside to this product is that it is very difficult to use as a facial wash by hand.
This does a great job in removing make-up but I do definitely recommend double cleansing to remove the leftover dirt and make-up.
This is my favourite and go-to skin cleanser! It is so gentle on the skin, thus it is great for sensitive skin. I find that it doesn't dry out my skin at all. It leaves my skin looking and feeling clean and fresh. The product comes with a pump which is handy, very easy to use.
Clinique's Liquid Facial Soup in Mild is so much better for my skin. I have dry combination skin. and the Clinique people always recommended me to use number 2 liquid soap which was too harsh for my skin. It dried out my skin.
It's so much more gentle than the original number 2 liquid soap. It does remove the dirt and impurities from my skin but it doesn't leave my skin feeling uncomfortable, dry and flaky if I don't apply moisturiser on straight away afterwards.
There is no fragrance because it's fragrance free.
As someone who has had pretty bad acne on and off, the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap helped (smells like cucumber though). The first time, I didn't see any improvements, but I felt fresh. After daily use for a weekish, I was breaking out less, and my skin felt softer.
I'm not quite sure if I love this product. It just didn't feel right on my skin. It made my face feel a little oily and just didn't feel right at all! So, I wouldn't call this product a bad one but it certainly isn't a great one to use. I'm kind of disappointed in Clinique.
Sometimes I feel that the Clinique 3 step program deserves a better reputation than it has. The 3-step program was my first proper skincare regimen back in my early 20s. Now that I have tried a very wide range of products at different price points, I still come back to this Clinique Liquid Facial Soap in Mild once every now and then.
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap is the first step of the 3-step program. It is not designed for makeup removal. If I had been wearing makeup I would remove it using a cleansing balm or oil before using this liquid soap (cleanser). This cleanser comes in a generous 200mL bottle, which lasts for at least 3 months even when used twice a day. This is because I only need to use a very small amount (half a 5 cent coin!) to get a very good lather. I apply the lather to wet skin, massage and rinse thoroughly. The cleanser is very easy to rinse off with no residue. After patting my skin dry, I feel that my skin is clean, fresh, yet still soft and smooth because this cleanser is not stripping. This cleanser is very suitable for my normal skin, especially in summer as a twice a day cleanser. In winter, I prefer to use the Clinique Liquid facial Soap in Extra Mild as an alternative for a more soothing experience.
My experience with this cleanser depended highly on whether my skin was normal or whether it was dry. When normal, this cleanser did its job well cleaning the surface of my skin after using an oil cleanser to remove makeup and sunscreen. Whenever my face was on the dry side this product would leave my skin feeling tight and squeaky, a sign that this product was doing more harm than good.
This makes my skin feel dry. But it lasted a long time and smelled nice.
I received this as part a the 3 step program for Christmas a few years ago. It comes in a clear green pump bottle. It's great because I can see how much product is left. There is a mild scent. I only use half a pump because it lathers/foams easily. I found that if I used too much, it actually dried out skin. In the mornings, I will use half a pump on wet skin then rinse. At night time, I will remove my makeup then use this with my Clarisonic to ensure there is no makeup residue to prepare for the rest of my skincare routine. My skin feels clean and not tight. I did find that it felt dry if I didn't continue with the rest of my routine promptly.
Using it in conjunction with the other two products in the 3 step, I found my skin improved after continuously using it for three weeks. However, after months of use, it didn't work as great, my skin has become used to it so I alternate between this cleanser and a few others.
-easily accessible at department stores and pharmacies
-can be drying if using too much
-stopped being effective and required a change in routine to regain effectiveness
-pump is not good for traveling
I would recommend this to those who have combination skin and need help achieving clear skin. This is so simple and easy to use but the pump bottle is impractical to bring anywhere so just stays in my bathroom vanity.
Love, love, love! Leaves my combination skin soft and blemish-free. A bottle lasts ages as you only need a small amount.
I actually found this product very harsh on my skin. I tossed it after a few uses as it didn't change. I felt as though my skin had been completely stripped which made my face feel very tight and therefore dry and itchy. I ended up looking like a lobster I was so red. Clinique moisturiser didn't help much to relieve the irritation.
Loved using this cleanser as part of the Clinique 3 Step System. It made me feel like I had properly cleansed my skin and didn't leave it feeling tight or dry after I had got out of the shower. The fragrance was pleasant and fresh (not too perfumed) and I love the gentle foaming action of the gel when mixed with water. Will definitely buy this cleanser again!
I have been using this cleanser as part of the Clinique 3 Step system and I really love it.
It comes in a pump bottle which makes it super easy to control the quantity needed each wash.
It's thick but distributes easily over the skin with water and foams really well. It has a nice fresh scent and left my skin feeling clean with all trace of make up removed.
I was worried that switching cleaners would cause me to break out but I'm pleased to see that hasn't happened.
