Evens skin tone and helps with all this Zooming!

This is nice and lightweight, but still provides coverage to even up skin tone. The container is a bit fiddly to start, with the bottom behaving like a compact with the application and the top screwing off with the actual foundation - but with regular use this is fine. The foundation feels good on my skin, not too heavy and coverage is lasting through the day.

Tricky on combination skin with visible pores

This cream foundation is a collaboration between Covergirl and Olay and is made in the US. It comes in a round compact and includes a thin latex sponge in a separate compartment. The foundation has a pretty swirly design and doesn't have any strong scent. The formula includes niacinamide high up on the list, and Vit E, Vit B5, glycerin, ascorbyl glucoside (Vit C), and claims SPF28 sun protection. For reference, I have combination skin with visible pores and fine lines. My MAC shade is between NC17-20. The shade I picked for the trial was 225 buff beige, which does not quite have the right undertone for my light olive skin, but is okay in terms of depth (not too light or dark). I first applied the foundation with the included sponge, and it gave a light coverage. I found that applying with a buffing brush gave a fuller medium coverage. The foundation was quite easy to blend. At first the finish looked really good, it evened out my skin tone and covered redness while leaving a natural, slightly dewy finish. I did not apply powder to see how it would perform, but within a couple of hours it had sunk into my pores and lines and made my face look even more irregularly textured than without foundation. On subsequent attempts, I used a primer, then a stippling brush to stipple the foundation in the places where my pores and fine lines are noticeable, then set with powder. This seemed to have a better result. So in conclusion, I can make this foundation work with some prep, different application technique and setting powder for my skin type, but it's not something I would repurchase as it takes some time to make it work, the shade selection is a little limited, plus I don't notice an improvement in terms of hiding my lines compared to other foundations.

Great foundation

Great compact style with sponge compartment underneath Creamy consistency. Goes on easily. Blends well. Great coverage.
