Oh I love this foundation so much! It has a gorgeous luminous finish and is very hydrating. It isn't super long wearing and I would recommend setting it, but it still lasts pretty much all day and doesn't wear off patchy or anything. I set it with a light dusting of a matte pressed powder and it stays luminous. It is a medium buildable coverage foundation and doesn't feel super oily or cakey on my face, it is honestly one of my favourite foundations because my skin just looks so healthy and youthful when I wear it.
This is my 'go to' foundation for work and evening.  It gives great coverage without getting heavy or cakey. The finish is soft and dewey, not shiny and looks great. Although the colour range isn't huge, the lighest colour is a perfect match for me. All this with change from $20. Love it!
I have very dry skin all year round so I have try out DB's Luminous Hydrating Foundation as the name of the foundation fits my bill. This foundation has a lightweight texture which glides on my face smoothly and it gave me a light coverage that is buildable to medium coverage. It dried down to a dewy finish but doesn't feel sticky or tacky and the foundation could get me through the day without any touch up. This is definitely a foundation for people with dry skin like myself as I didn't get any creases, cracks or flakes throughout the day. Great foundation.
I generally have quite oily skin and would usually avoid a foundation labelled "hydrating", but due to winter and other drug store foundations drying my skin out, I needed something to help restore some balance in my skin. The Designer Brands foundation was my top pick mostly due to its reasonable price point and skin beneficial ingredients of vitamin c and green tea(and no added nasties!). The foundation comes packaged in a classy square shaped frosted glass bottle which I loved straight away. It felt like a much more expensive foundation with the elegant packaging. The product is dispensed through a hygienic pump dispenser and 2 pumps is more than enough to cover the entire face. I found the smooth gel like texture to blend so easily and the shade porcelain ivory was a perfect match for my skin tone. It felt nice and light on my skin and left it dewy and radiant looking without being greasy. The scent was very mild and pleasant.  I was worried I would be an oily mess before the day was out but I found this foundation stayed well and didn't sit in pores like most liquid foundations end up doing after a few hours of wear on me. The coverage was medium for me but could be buildable to full if you have dry skin naturally.  Pros *Affordable price  *Elegant glass bottle *Subtle scent *Easy to apply and blend *Buildable coverage *Added skin beneficial ingredients  *Hydrating and leaves skin looking naturally dewy and youthful *Doesnt settle in pores or look caked on Cons *Wouldn't be suitable for oily skin I unfortunately had to cease use as I have overly sensitive eyes and something in this formulation made them a bit watery.  Such a shame as I truly loved everything about this foundation!
I have used an endless supply of foundations over the years. I feel like I've tried every brand, every coverage and every promise. Never have I had a foundation live up to its name quite like the Designer Brands Luminous Hydrating Foundation. From my very first application, I was in love and cursing that I hadn't found this sooner. The product is so blend-able and absolute perfect match to my skin colour (something that has eluded me from almost every brand available!) I love the buildable coverage I get, meaning I can apply a small amount for an everyday look and then build to a fuller coverage when I need. The foundation makes me skin look dewy, not shiny, and I get lots of compliments on how bright it makes my (very dull) skin look! I also find that multiple tools can be used for application; fingers, brushes and sponges.
This foundation seriously blew me away! I picked it up after watching michal finch's 'top 10 drugstore foundations' and was shocked to see the results on him. He explained that Designer Brands uses most indgredients that a lot of high end foundations have and that's why i had to give it a try.  I got it on sale for 10 dollaroos!! What a bargain but i wasn't won over until i tried it.  Pros: the coverage is definitely full coverage with out feeling too heavy or cakey. It doesn't smell or feel cheap at all. I used my beauty blender to blend it out and it worked a dream, super full coverage and added a luminous glow to my combination skin. Although... Con: my skin is quiet tanned and I found the colour range not all that good. Even though the coverage covered all my flaws, once it dried, it turned a bit ashy grey on my skin. Not a problem though as i use bronzer around my face but it was the smallest let down.  All in all, one of my favourite drugstore full coverage foundations.
This product absolutely blew me away. I decided to try it as I had heard nothing but good things about it and it was only $20 which is about $30 cheaper than my last foundation. Well, I have to say I am impressed. My skin is combination dry and oily and this foundation gave very even and good coverage covering imperfections without looking caked on or flakey. It gave my skin a very luminescent glow without looking oily. I wore it all day for a birthday party and the coverage was still fabulous at the end of the day. It has fantastic milage which is great if you are like me and don't like to re-apply anything but lipstick. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking for a long wearing, high coverage foundation without the designer price tag.
I got the shade 'Light Sand' for review, for my NW15-25 skin it was on the lighter side - unusual for a foundation at this price point which might normally be darker for a 'Sand' shade. Definitely worth swatching in store prior to purchase. I tried this a few different ways since it was received for review purposes - on its own, with a few different primers, mixed with a darker foundation for my light spring tan. I found that it worked best over a light / hydrating primer, and that I should avoid mattifying primers, silicone-y or greasy primers, and anything but the lightest of sunscreens as it had a tendency to look patchy and cakey - so I wouldn't call this a versatile buildable foundation. I tried applying with hands, foundation brush, beauty blender sponge, and it was definitely best applied with a sponge. One day I applied it over a silicon-based primer and it was patchy, inconsistent, and caked up around my nose and cheeks; that night I tried it mixed with some L'Oreal True Match to get a better skin tone match and applied over a lighter primer; I received multiple compliments on how nice and glowy and clear my skin looked. This foundation does transfer and move around a bit and setting with powder leads to Cake City so it is probably best for situations where you are prepared to blot away any oil during the day to keep it looking fresher. Not the most buildable, versatile or longest wearing foundation but quite nice when you've had a play to get it just right. 3 stars from me.
I have always tended to steer more towards matte finish foundation so was a little wary of trying something that was going to be a little more dewy. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't end up looking oily and gross by the end of the day! This was easy to apply and felt light on my skin, it also finished well with powder for a clean even look. This was my first time using a Designer Brands product and was a good experience so I will definitely consider their products again.
When I first received this foundation and swatched it on my face it was a bit darker then my skin tone and it dried up very quick. I still thought I’d try it out for the day and just wore it around the house. It was very full coverage and came off very easily when I would scratch my face or make a phone call. It’s a overall good foundation for the price but I would like to purchase it again in a lighter colour as I feel I didn’t have a good experiance with it.
I usually use Georgio Armanis foundation so was unsure, hoewver it felt great on my skin and was not too heavy on my skin. The glow was subtle, would not  recommend for oily skin, but was great for my dry skin. The colour was also a great match for my skin. Overall would recommend and buy again.
This foundation is honestly unbelievable the texture and quality is honestly worth it. I used a brush to apply and then a damp sponge to blend in It left my finishing look looking flawless, and luminous. I will definately want to recommend this foundations as one of my top picks
I am in love with this foundation! I use the shade porcelain ivory, which is my perfect shade for my natural skin. The coverage is amazing, being medium but easily able to build up to full, covering all of my imperfections. The finish is quite dewy but doesnt look too oily, so i feel that it would work best for dry skin but can still work for people who are slightly on the oily side, like me. It also stayed amazingly throughout the day, i found that a primer helped to prolong the wear of the foundation. Overall it is amazing and i will definitely be repurchasing once i run out!
I was impressed by this foundations colouring. It suited my pale skin wonderfully. It blended well and is very easy to apply. It's unlike me to use a liquid foundation but I found this one to not look cakey or painted on.  It has a real luminous feel to it. I usually use a liquid highlighter but felt like I didn't need to with this foundation.
The designer brands luminous hydrating foundation is so amazing. It is such a lightweight product to put on my skin, it is so buildable and it covers all of my freckles (none of my other foundations do this!) As soon as I put on the foundation my skin looked dewy and glowing, it looked like this the whole day. It didn't fade anywhere. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone because it is amazing. This is now my number one foundation!
Before testing the product i decided no to look at what the retail value was so i could make the best judgement. I have combination skin and was super impressed with the dewy finish as it is not the finish I would usually be looking to buy. I chose to wear a setting powder which helped the foundation last the day with little transfer. The colour was perfect for me and the foundation is a nice consistency to which you can apply sparingly or add another layer for a fuller coverage. It does not feel heavy on your skin and easily covers small marks and blemishes and comes off easily using a make up wipe leaving my skin feeling hydrated. I was very surprised to see it was so cheap and would definitely buy again - perfect for everyday wear.
I was given this product in the shade 805 True Beige to trial. After wearing in everyday for a week, I’m not really a fan. Yes, it’s dewy and looks nice on my face. But only for a short time. Once applied it had a slight tacky feel to it and after a few hours I went from having a nice glow in the morning to looking greasy by lunch time. Foundation also started to separate around my T- zone. I wouldn’t recommend this foundation for combination skin types.
This foundation was a good foundation however i wouldn't recommend it for people with oily skin at all! I have dry to combination skin and i felt as though it was abit too dewy!  Overall however, the texture was amazing and felt very smooth and was able to apply evenly over my skin even though it had a semi-thick texture. For me, this foundation lasted about 9-12 hours and has a medium to high coverage which i found was great especially for people who do have skin that needs a little more covering up. The packaging of the bottle was nice however did not like how it wasn't transparent to see through into the bottle - i find this makes a lot harder to determine ones color. This foundation is for someone who has dry skin and is after that dewy summer glow!
The quality of this foundation for the price is great. This is next level dewy so best suited for Dry skin and would be great in Winter however I mixed a little EL double wear which helped ramp up the staying power whilst in 30 degree weather. Definitely applied best with a foundation brush. I used light sand which was more of a neutral shade shade.
I found that the dewiness of this product made me feel like my skin was too oily, however some finishing powder fixed this problem, I also found it was best to apply the product without moisturiser. Otherwise I enjoyed using this make up as a quick foundation before work as it easily covered my imperfections with buildable coverage.
