I think this cleanser does a pretty good job. I like to use it as part of a double cleansing routine. I follow the instructions on the back which say to massage it into damp skin and then I rinse thoroughly with warm water. This takes almost all my makeup off except for a tiny amount around my eyes but I do wear a long wearing eyeliner. That’s why I like to follow up with a foaming face wash to get every bit of residue off.  My skin is left feeling comfortable after this face wash. It doesn’t feel stripped of moisture, or tight. It doesn’t foam up much, but you do feel like it’s taking your makeup off. It says on the packaging not to use it around the eye area, but I do, and find that it doesn’t sting or irritate my eyes at all. For those that don’t like fragrance in their cleanser, this one only has a very faint pleasant scent. It’s  not overpowering at all. I would recommend this cleanser to someone with normal to dry skin and someone that wants to use it as part of a double cleansing routine because for me it works effectively and well.
The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam has a milky texture that turns to foam when in contact with water and massage on the face. It feels gentle and nourishing on skin without causing my skin to have breakouts. Unfortunately this cleanser is too gentle and doesn't remove all the impurities on my face even after removing my makeup with makeup remover.
In the past I used to love Estee Lauder cleansers and their Splash Away was my first high end cleanser ever and one of the best I have ever used too. When I was given a few samples of this new Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam I was delighted to test this cleanser out. What I noticed first of all is that the name of the product is very misleading. The formula of this cleanser is not really a foam, It leans more to the lotion or even milky kind of cleanser. The product does not foam/ lather too much either, so if one expects a lot of foam, one will be disappointed. Advanced Night Micro Cleansing foam is a milky cream and has a very subtle scent. I love the fragrance myself, to me it smells a bit chanelesque, indeed properly luxurious. The scent is floral and very delicate. Since that cleansing foam does not foam too much, it is easy to rinse the product off the face. This cleanser is very gentle, a definitely a non-drying face wash, verly mild on the skin. Therefore, I would use it as the last step of any cleansing routine. I do not think that Micro Cleansing Foam would be capable of removing some long lasting make up, I wouldn't count on that. And again I believe that the name of the product is a bit deceptive as it says "Night" so it suggests using it at night, and in my opinion this cleanser is perfect for the morning, as it is gentle, doesn't make the skin feel tight, but it does leave the skin feel refreshed and smooth. The packaging is a standard twis off tube and in my opinion Estee Lauder could have come up with something more exciting and handy. At least some pump would be welcome and more useful. All in all, the product is not bad, but the name is misleading. I think sensitive, dry skins would enjoy this cleanser as it is mild.
I was sorely disappointed with this cleanser. I have been using products by Estee Lauder for the past 10 years, and have to say give this one a miss!  I have fair combination skin, making it problematic for me to find a cleanser that doesn't dehydrate and cause breakouts or cause to become too oily and cause breakouts. It claims to maintain your skins moisture balance, yet for me this product stripped my skin of all natural oil and caused me to have breakouts. I only used the product for 2 weeks, but really ought to have given up after a few days. In terms of make-up removal, the essentially soap based product was only useful for removing surface level layers of makeup and could not stand up to a heavier application.. All in all I would recommend anyone considering it to save their money.
