Estée Lauder Double Wear Light foundation is my 'go-to' foundation during hot summer's day because it give me a nice natural light coverage and absorbs all the facial oil. The foundation last the whole day without settling on creases under my eye areas. It does melt a little around my nose area which is common for me and it melt off evenly without any patchiness.
This is the best light coverage foundation I have ever tried. I usually wear a medium coverage foundation but after trying this I think I can get away with a light. It makes your skin look naturally flawless, like its your skin and not foundation that you are wearing and it stays like that for the day. I like that a little goes a long way, and that it contains an SPF, as I'm all about preventing future damage. I would recommend this foundation to someone that loves a natural looking but long lasting foundation, or someone that loves a bare skin look.
I recently sampled what felt like a hundred other foundations, but I could not find anything better than this.  This is my HG foundation.  The finish is perfect! It is matte, but not flat or dull.  It has a nice "life" to it so it doesn't look mask-like.  I find this to be a full coverage foundation.  It's easy to blend and I use my fingers to really massage it into my skin. It completely covers up all my open pores around my nose and conceals redness and blemishes.  It does not settle into wrinkles.  It gives that lovely airbrushed, perfect skin finish.  I love the way it makes my skin look perfect, without looking like makeup sitting on top of my skin.  This really lasts all day, even without a primer, and even if you go to the gym during the day.  I don't use a powder to set it.  It has never made me breakout.   The ONLY problem with this foundation, and the reason why I keep looking for a new one, is that there are such limited shades.  I have very fairy pinkish cool-toned Scottish skin.  I use Intensity One, but it is too dark for me.  Because it is the right pinky tone for my skin I can get away with it if I apply it very lightly and am wearing high-necked clothing so you can't see the difference between my face and body when I'm wearing it, or if I have a fake tan that is fading,  but it's definitely too dark if you're very fair like me. Bizarrely, I use Intensity 2 when I have a spray tan (even a dark holiday spray tan) and it looks perfect, even in photos - but I notice some people with fair skin who say they use Intensity 2, so I think the colours must adjust to your skin somewhat and be a bit forgiving.
I've completely fallen back in love with this foundation again. It was my go to some years ago, but since them my skin has gotten a lot more dehydrated and flaky and I though it would not suit me but was I wrong! It was beautiful. My skin looked so even and radiant, and it didn't cling to any dry patches. I used a beauty sponge to apply and set it with mac fix+ (my preferred method when my skin is dry and dull).  I'm also a big fan of the packaging, its simple and light weight and so convenient for travel. Definitely not running out of this anytime soon.
This is an absolute gamechanger for my personal makeup arsenal and I am so glad it lived up to the hype. For reference I am combination with a tendency to go oily or normal in the summer and winter respectively. I find this to be one of the few foundations that works with me throughout the year and provides a beautiful a flawless base.  The foundation is a standard liquid texture that I come to expect from a department store (Myer, David Jones) brand - not excessively liquidy, but not too thick either. Rather quite creamy. As such I find both a brush and sponge work well to apply this to the skin. In the winter, a drop of oil can also help to ad a bit of oomph to it including hydration and glow. It leaves a velvet finish to the skin, not exessively matte and not dewy at all. It gives enough room for you to layer on the highlight while still maintaining a good mattified base. I do set this with a powder but only after I have let it settle down a bit (i.e. I will apply this first and then do eyes, brows, maybe fuss with my hair) - I find that giving it time to set down shows where I really need powder which is usually only the bridge of my nose and upper part of my forehead.  This has fantastic staying power. The first time I tried it was in the middle of our Aussie summer in the sunshine state (so probably about 35 degrees at least and with a good dose of humidity) - it stayed put for a good 6 hours and kept it's velvet/matte finish for at least that long as well. It did not oxidise when my sweat and oils came through and did not break up or settle into any of my lines. Note - I didn't use a primer, just my standard mosturiser and SPF as a base. I also love that this does not have a flashback like it's counterpart does and is perfect for nights out as well and flash photography. I intend to wear this to a wedding in a few weeks and am very confident in it.
This is hands down one of the best foundations on the market, and is absolutely perfect for anyone living in a hot climate. I've worn Estee Lauder's Double Wear many times over the years (love it), but I love Double Wear Light even more. The Light formula has all the amazing benefits of Double Wear - superb coverage, evens out my skin tone, hides redness and lasts, lasts, lasts all day/night, even through 40 degree heat - but also it blends better and feels lighter on my skin.  It's more medium coverage versus the traditional full coverage from standard Double Wear & as someone who really likes coverage around medium level, this ticks every box for me. I love that it applies easily, always blends beautifully, and truly lasts until I'm ready to take it off late at night.  It's never patchy or wears off before I'm ready to take it off.  It also never causes any skin irritation or breakouts on my combination skin.  This is also one of the few foundations I own that doesn't need a primer underneath it and though the SPF protection is light i.e. SPF10, I like that it's included. I also know that it's matches colour wise with my skin - EL really do take care in both providing a wide variety of shades, & also their shades don't seem to be too yellow, pink, sallow, or different from real skin tones.  I have a light medium skintone that's on the warm side and can find a great match. This is a true 5 star foundation, and one I highly recommend everyone tries out.  I live in Perth, and with out hot, often humid weather, most foundations just aren't going to cut it, but this one really does - it's fantastic 365 days of the year.
A younger brother of the famous foundation. I love it. There are days when I  reach for this one and I think….God! How I missed you! It’s almost as good as Double Wear ( the main difference is the choice of shades and the coverage that is not as full as in the case of Double Wear). The packaging is a great and handy tube. Travel friendly too. I use 2.0 intensity and it’s a fair match for my skintone. I like the way it applies.. effortlessly, although a quick application might be better as it does set/dry a little. I really can’t find any negatives – the skin looks beautiful. The coverage is medium, but buildable, it makes the skin look flawless, lasts ALL day and unlike Double Wear – it won’t settle in your wrinkles ( if you’ve got any). My mum, after trying this foundation at mine’s, is on her third tube now, and she’s 53, so it’s also suitable for more mature skin. I think Double Wear Light is great for those with combination/oily skin, as those with the dry skin might find it too drying. Those who need a long lasting foundation that will not disappear throughout the day from their face can count on this one too.
This is a perfect foundation when you want light coverage that lasts all day. It comes in a squeeze bottle for easy application and compact enough to fit in your make up bag. The scent is fragranceless and just smells like foundation. It comes in a good range of colours to match your skin tone. This foundation gives a soft velvety semi matte finish and has great coverage. The matte finish makes it easy to apply other make up over the top like blusher. It glides on silky smooth, feels luxurious on your skin and is lightweight. It blends well on your face, wears beautifully, evens out your skin tone, and doesn't look caked on/mask like. Also a little bit goes a long way. After trialing several methods, I've found that for best results, use a makeup sponge to apply the foundation to your face to give a flawless and even natural look. For the days that I want extra coverage, I like to finish off with a powder over the top. The foundation stays put in hot and humid weather conditions, doesn't sweat off or transfer and quite waterproof, so you don't have to re-apply during the day. Even through it has great staying power, it is easy to remove at the end of the day with a good cleanser. I found this to be a perfect foundation for Summer or daytime wear because it's lighter while the normal Double Wear foundation to be better suited for nighttime or Winter. I like the fact that it's oil free and contains SPF 10 and it still looks quite fresh at the end of the day. I felt confident wearing it all day. The negative is that it can make your skin dry so use a good moisturiser underneath. I also found it to set quickly so you have to work fast. You may have to use a little concealer on those tough to hide areas although the foundation is buildable. Overall this is a great foundation from a premium brand that I'm happy to recommend.
Estee Lauder are leading the way with fantastic liquid foundations that cater for a vast range of skin types and coverages. Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place makeup glides along skin like a dream and stays in place for hours and hours on end. I love the fact I can apply it at 7am and still look flawless by 6pm thanks to this nifty formula that just keeps on giving. The shade I am using is perfect for fair skin tones with its golden-yellow base that removes excess redness from my skin. Packaging is easy to carry in the handbag or pop in your beauty bag because it does not take up too much room. The scent is very light and non-obtrusive which makes Double Wear Light all the more appealing. Fragrance free and oil free, Double Wear Light is great for all skin types and I am highly impressed to discover it is free of parabens, containing ingredients which are relatively safe. The great thing about Double Wear Light is that although described as a light to medium coverage, it can offer a medium to full coverage finish with a second application of foundation once the first has set in. So get your hands on Double Wear Light foundation because you won't be disappointed.
